In this video I guide you through repairing a computer that has a failed hard drive. I take out the faulty drive and replace it with an SSD, which will make the computer faster than it was originally. I then show you how to install Windows 10 on the new SSD, making it work like a brand new computer.
You'll need a Windows 10 installation USB - check out another video of mine, where i show you how to create one:    • How to create a Windows 10 Installati...

I have to say this was one of easiest videos to follow and helped me to understand the installation of the windows process without having to partition the drive. I almost threw out my favorite laptop but took a chance and bought a cheap $23.99 119 gb SSD and now it's better and faster than when I bought it.
  • Thanks my guy, helped me replace a broken hdd with a new ssd. Video got it all covered, so it was a smooth experience for a tech newb like me :)!

  • Absolutely perfect! Replaced a corrupted PC hard drive, made a windows 10 USB backup from my other laptop and installed them all.....the video was brilliant and my screen showed all the instructions you gave. Thank you....made my day not having to pay someone else to do it!!!!!

Thank you Dave, simple IT for dummies style YouTube videos (for me), Samsung All-in-one 500gb HDD just failed and I had no recovery disk/usb. Using this and the 'create media video' I have just got my PC back up and going with a 2TB drive. Great work buddy and I'd highly recommend your simple, easy to follow but detailed demos. Can't tell you how much this has helped at this difficult time with no shop repairs possible. Thank you.

3:49 Also, you might want to press the power button for 3-5 secs to get rid of any electricity inside the computer from when it was last shut down.
  • @robc.4610
Worked like a charm! I saved $700 on a new computer by just purchasing a $50 SSD with 500GB. Thank you so much!

This was perfect and will be a great help when I upgrade to an SSD - Job well done!
  • @mwy3703
I managed to change my failed hard disc to a SSD following your instruction. Your instructions are very clear and easy to following. This is the first time I've done this and it gives me confidence to upgrade my other laptop. Thanks so much. I've watched other videos on youtube on how to change hard disc, yours is the best, especially when you suggested we search for the service manual from the manufacturer as a guide. This really helps. Thanks so much. Keep making more of these videos on Youtube.
