Without Perry, the band would’ve likely faded away. Nobody would be on YouTube talking about them in 2022.

I love Neal and everything he does but for me, Steve and his absolutely stunning voice was the thing that made Journey so special.

Steve will always be number one in my book. When it comes to Journey

Journey will never be the same without Steve period. We can debate it till we all die but it’s the truth but now Steve due to age can’t hit those notes like he did 40 years ago and some songs he probably can’t sing with the intensity as in years ago but his voice like Elvis could never be duplicated! Never!

Steve Perry is DEFINITELY in the top 10 of the 100 GREATEST vocalists in Rock music!!! 🎤🎶🎵

Steve Perry is and will always be my favorite all time male vocalist ❤❤❤

Steve WAS ABSOLUTELY awesome! I will listen to Steve Perry forever. Steve was the best thing for Journey. My favorite singer of all time ❤️❤️

I saw Journey with REO, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Ted Nugent at the Superbowl of Rock at Soldier Field in Chicago. They announced their new lead singer Steve Perry. He came out in a red jumpsuit and a frisbee. He said, "HELLO CHICAGO" and whipped that frisbee from the stage all the way to the end zone at the other side of the football field. Amazing.

I knew Steve Perry before he was in Journey. He was in a house band at a club in the San Joaquin Valley. It was a trio with him on drums and vocals. Not many people know that he was actually a really good drummer who could play drums and sing at the same time really well. He paid his dues in that club for about 2 or 3 years.

Steve Perry brought real success to Journey his vocals alone changed everything! Neal was blown away, and he still is to this present day! 😳
  • Sad that even with all the success that Journey had Neal still can’t acknowledge without Steve Perry brought with his voice, writing abilities and a true entertainer Journey would have been a has been. Journeys true success comes from the co writing of Perry and Cain and Steve’s voice. Honestly I think they could have found another guitarist. He needs to give both men the create the deserved for writing great hit songs and Steve Perry’s voice range and voice. To bad they didn’t care about Steve’s vocal and emotional state or he might still be with the band.

I love Journey! But just my opinion, Steve Perry was Journey! Steve has the best vocals of any rock artist ever. There will never be another Steve Perry.
  • The Best! There are many great singers. But Mr Steve has said uniqueness to his voice that can never be duplicated & he is kind enough to share it with the world. Thank U. 😊

Steve was one of a kind, no auto tune no computers. Live was phenomenal, Swims, Stapleton, Klafford, great talents, but what would they sound like in a room no mic? I know Steve would have blown the doors off.

I dont think Journey would have been big without Steve! I heard the music without him it was OK! With Steve it was Great!!
  • @jetfleet5
Steve and Greg were incredible together. It’s too bad they both didn’t realize how great they were together. The best Journey work for me is when they shared the vocals together. Anytime at all, Anytime at All!
  • There was Elvis "The King"!! Then Steve Perry!! They are the two with golden voices straight out of heaven. Lou Gramm and Sebastian Bach, David Coverdale, we're very good. I'm gonna watch out for Dino jelusick. I think he's really got a gift. But I only know of two heavenly voices and that's Elvis and Steve Perry. Talent like that just doesn't come around. I don't know if there will ever be another singer with such a perfect tone. A gift for the world.... thanks ❤️🎸🎶😎

My buddy saw Journey in CC Tx when Perry FIRST took over on vocals. Before the first notes were played,Some ppl in the audience were booing, disappointed. Then Perry started singing!..The Jeers quickly turned the Cheers! He silenced the Nay sayers with his voice.

Steve tells a different story of don’t stop believing. He’s been quoted saying he started to right the song one night in Detroit when he was staring out the window in a hotel and groups of people were gathering.
