ShartimusPrime Biography:

Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

  • Hasbro's ML team has been dropping the ball a lot lately, but they still hit it out of the park at times. Which bugs me because if they have the ability to make great figures than be more consistent. This Venom, Retro Lizard, Amazing Fantasy Spiderman, Spiral, all great figures. Some maybe priced too high, but they're still good. Then you have something with all reused parts from a ten year mold with just a new head for 25-30 and that's just uncalled for.

Sh figuarts wins for me. Feels way more fun to pose in hand. And the extra accesories add to that. The legends is still an amazing figure for the price
  • @IG88IGLOO.
I am very satisfied with the colors on the Marvel Legends Venom. I hope Marvel Legends will get more Sony Venom figures but it doesn't seem high priority. I'd love a casual Eddie with an floating attachable venom head and a Carnage. I have the Figuarts Carnage on preorder because I don't think Hasbro will get around to it. Then when they do maybe I'll sell it for whatever it's worth then.
  • I love how the figure looks for the most part but the SHF Venom looks like it has the colors of Riot more than Venom.
  • @ambrrew21
the sh figuarts looks so nice when posing, the only thing killing it is the price. ml venom fs takes the cake with the $30 price tag
  • Hasbro really need to make more Sony/Fox movie figures and GamerVerse as well.
  • @New2Kendo
I have the Marvel and I am completely happy with it. I hit mine with some Dulcoat and it helped a ton, I also applied several coats of high gloss clear to the tongue on Venom and it made the tongue look wet, which also really helped
  • @LLWDLWLYFE
Your the reason I started the app yesterday. I need to catch your sales.
  • Really the only thing that is better for the sh figuarts fig is that it has neck rotation but that’s it for me ml takes the win
  • I like both a lot. This was actually a very fair comparison bro, if you consider everything and all that you mentioned... it was very fair to do. That's why it's good to shop around and see what you can get. That being said, I want both lol. Also, both are uniquely different and yet the same. All the more reason for a comparison.
  • To me one of the things that I think they should have gave the shf or both of then is like a half Eddie and half Venom head
  • @DesignIncase
I think it's absolutely fair to compare. With the price difference, I feel I should go. Yep I paid x amount for this and I expected this quality of product. Blue Venom - I think it's that the first movie had a lot of "moonlight lit" scenes which means a lot of blue. Then cool lighting in that little mart. The second movie far less so. Really Hasbro could make a few tweaks(individual neck, pinless) but I feel like bang for your buck - MVL.
  • @MrE_
Man those are very close in size and shape. If there's a way to put the SH Figurarts head articulation on the Marvel Legends, that would make it perfect
  • @Goldenpika10
Do you know where I can get extra fist hands for the marvel legends Venom? I lost one of the hands and I can’t find it 😢
  • For the price (also for when they were made), I think they’re both good. I do think the S.H. Venom should be cheaper than it is though. I guess it just depends on how much you like it. I personally think the hasbro venom is good enough since I ordered it from Walmart a week ago lol. My only real gripe with it is that is needs a lot more white paint for the veins. That’s not a deal breaker for me, especially when I got it on sale for 20 bucks
  • I wish Figuarts figures used ab crunch articulation. Conversely I wish more US Figures used the drop down hips even though some hate it.
