While my spouse and I have visited the South Rim several times, we had never been to the North Rim until early June 2024. I was incredibly impressed with the North Rim. As your video perfectly describes, the North Rim is the better rim.

I love the North Rim. I worked at the lodge for four seasons. I was there during the 69-72 seasons. It is how I worked my through school. I hope most of my friends are still alive and doing very well. Always Jim the baker.

I was there in mid November of 2019, and it was awesome because there were only around 5 people, and I was standing at the Bright Angel Point for like 30 minutes, soaking in the view all for myself because there was nobody else around :) Such an awesome experience. I hope it never gets crowded. The North Rim is open from around May (sometimes early June) after the snowmelt, until the first significant snowfall that can be end of October to November.

Thank you for posting this video! I've been to both the north and south rims several times. They are both beautiful places to visit but yes, the north rim is the absolute BEST! When asked about the differences between the two, the easiest way for me to describe them is that the north rim is peaceful, tranquil and relaxing as where the south rim is more akin to a Disney attraction. Thank you, once again, for posting!!
  • We loved our trip to the North Rim of the GC! Loved the Bison, Bright Angle Trail, and the Visitor's Center at Jacob Lake is Amazing!!!

👍👍 Grand ! Isent it beautiful !!! ? I could sit on the edge for a week just to watch it change colors and draw! 😊
  • Headed there today after going to both Bryce and Zion. Your videos have been invaluable! Also, your downloaded paid guides give great information and context to what we have seen. Everybody whose traveling here should buy them. Well worth the money. We bought the guides for all three this trip and for Yellowstone last year.
  • Headed there along with Bryce and Zion on our trip out West . We have Matt and Cheryls audio for these three ( and also Yellowstone and the Grabs Tetons) which are absolutely FANTASTIC overviewsguideher audio guide. If you are planning a trip to any of these 3 ( or Yellowstone or the Grand Tetons) consider buying the We're in the Rockies Audio Guides. Invaluable!!!

Just came across this video today. We're on vacation from Scotland this September, and are spending 8 nights in Kanab as a base for Bryce and zion, but will definitely check out the north rim. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇺🇲
  • As always great info, made my notes getting ready for my April trip. We will be on the South rim but this gives me reason for a second trip. Thanks for sharing.
  • @bhendrikabel
Great tips. I’ve bern to the South Rim in 2022. I’m going to the North Rim this June. I’m going to do a two week roadtrip with my little brother ( 53 ) to show him he beauty of the USA. The North Rim should be one the highlights.
  • @wncjan
I must visit North Rim next time I get to that area.

  • @stevej7139
I was at the north rim 2 years ago, that was my first time even though I've been to the south rim many times, even hiked to the bottom from the south rim once back in 1975.

I’m having my wedding there, cape royal Amphitheater, and booked some time at the Grand Canyon Lodge. I found your video after and I have never been to Arizona but it has put my mind at ease. Thank you guys very much for making this video
