So many people keep misusing the word Afrobeat. Afrobeat is a genre invented in Nigeria by Fela Kuti and Tony Allen in the late 60s/early 70s. The modern catch-all term for modern pop music out of West Africa with hiphop and R&B influences is Afrobeats, with an "S" on the end. Not the same thing at all.
