A deleted scene from Star Trek: Nemesis where Picard is introduced to his new first officer, tests out his new captain chair and goes to explore another system. This is an alternate ending I got from Star Trek Nemesis DVD. IMO, I don't know why the hell they deleted it, it is (better said, would be) one of best moments in entire movie.

This isn't made by me. Paramount please don't sue me, because that would be rude and mean. Thank you very much.

I will never understand why this scene was cut.  This, to me, is the best note to end the TNG era on.  Bright, optimistic, and boldly going where no one has gone before.

I love that smirk Picard gives the new First Officer after learning Will pranked him. Like "Oh that Will...what a funny man."

Anyone else instantly want more TNG adventures after watching this scene??
  • I love riker's smug smile when he strolled into the turbo lift. His whole face says "too good to pass up"
  • Yeah no kidding took em what almost 200 years to decide to put seat belts on these damn ship, maybe next we can design the consoles to not explode in people's faces

The latest in starfleet technology: Seatbelts.

I’ve never said this before but this is one deleted scene they should’ve left in!!!! 😍👍🏻

Actually this is a pretty realistic turnover, in the Navy we almost always mess with the new guy.

to me , this wouldve been the perfect send off similar to , The Undiscovered Country when Kirk says, Second Star to the right and straight on til morning followed by his final captains log

Riker being a troll. Gotta love 'em. And the seat-belt! Fans have been making jokes about that for years XD

This feels like a documentary clip showing the every day simple moments of Captain Jean-Luc Picard when he's not busy saving the Quadrant.

Hope we get to see the Sovereign class again some day, it's a beautiful ship, and I feel like only three movies wasn't enough of it!

That one deleted scene just made up for the rest of Nemesis.

The more I see this scene, the more I wish it was kept in the film. It's much more in tune with the essence of The Next Generation.

Commander Madden was played by Stephen Culp, who ended up playing the MACO officer Major Hayes in the Star Trek Enterprise series. He also played Bobby Kennedy in the excellent film Thirteen Days, about the Cuban Missile Crisis. Great actor.

He should have just called him "JL" Picard seems to be pretty cool with that apparently.

The reason Picard never laughed it off is because he always envisioned Data as his “Number One”

There's another deleted scene from earlier in the film where Picard asks Wesley Crusher (who has returned to Starfleet) if he's looking forward to serving aboard the Titan. Which means that Riker is going to be stuck with this kid AGAIN. A fitting punishment for wrecking two Enterprises. Have fun Will!

I kinda wish we could have had a relaunch series from this point. Would have been interesting to see the Enterprise E in a series with this crew, kinda shake things up.

I want the optimism back. I want what once was. Having had cancer, i now struggle more, because there is less to struggle for. I miss old trek, I miss old me.
