Highway 35 World Race was a huge leap forward from previous Mattel cartoons/movies. This fun downhill racing video showcases all 35 of the cars that Mattel released in single packages under their Hot Wheels brand. It features exciting races with all of the characters from the movies that fans will enjoy!

The 35 cars were broken down into five teams, seven cars each. Here are the Team Leaders and their car. To see the rest of the team members, please check out the video.

Wave Rippers, Team Leader: Vert Wheeler, the Deora II
Scorchers, Team Leader: Taro Kitano, '70 Plymouth Road Runner
Street Breed, Team Leader: Kurt Wylde, Sling Shot
Dune Rats, Team Leader: Brian Kadeem, Krazy 8s
Road Beasts, Team Leader: Banjee Castillo, Ballistik

After Highway 35 World Race, Mattel released the AcceleRacers with many of the same characters. I did downhill racing with a complete set of those too:

  • "This isn't a game kid. You're a driver now, not a surf rat!" (Taro Kitano, 2003 Highway 35 movie) perfectly describes the final takedown at 25:58
  • @thestranger5911
25:54 you know how Taro always says "I'm going to pass you" well this time it actually happened.

Seven years on and I don’t know if anybody bothered to recognize the drivers of the podium spots: 1st. Finn Serpa 2nd. Rekkas 3rd. Taro Kitano 4th. Vert Wheeler 5th. Esmeralda Sánchez 6th. Kurt Wylde 20 years ago and Highway 35 is still an iconic childhood experience. Maybe we’ll come back to this one day.
  • I've had that freaking F-150 all my childhood and I never knew that the back popped off like that! I was always too scared to put any pressure on the cars because I loved the graphics! Same goes for the road rocket as soon as I finished this video I grabbed my cars and popped them and I just thought it was so cool!
  • @GHOSTJERKER
Awesome competition Mark! These are some of the coolest cars Hot Wheels ever made! Great to see the complete set racing on the Super 6!

Taro to vert on the last race, "I'm going to pass you"
  • @101jir
I love how comfortable you are with who you are, it is inspiring. More foolish adults would be too self-conscious to post themselves playing with toy cars at that age.

16:41 "A wipeout like that...and I hardly got dinged. Man, these car can really take punishment!"

Highway 35 was the coolest Hot Wheels series ever.

I wish I could hate this guy . But I can't . The inner kid inside me just wishes that I could have what he haves
  • @Notfluffy7
Damn, Kadeem and Banjee knocked out early.....just like in AcceleRacers 😭

00:08 this makes me wish I never destroyed my set of WR cars, had all of them I just never knew how special they would become when I was a kid. The nostalgia is real with this one!
  • I really really wish Mattel would make a 5 pack of the team leaders from World Race with basic pieces for the 20th anniversary of World Race this year.
  • @wildfire389
Its nice to see someone else how has a mad passion for these films and cars. I have a tub full of 500 cars, all the movies and 4 or 5 tracks

Dear race grooves,I would just like to say, personally throughout the past few years on YouTube. I've seen many channels about toys for kids, but your channel. Compared to others has to be one of the best channel's I've seen in my years. Unlike other toy accounts, you interact with your subs and don't disable comments and like systems. Unlike others, you give shout outs to users on here. And your daughter (and I think ive seen a son..Idk about fully might just be crazy here) unlike others, if you've seen few like Japanese toys. They do crazy stuff or anything strange and may I use what apparently others users say "cringe". But you, you just stick to the theme of cars and hotwheels. Not like Disney toys who changes the theme every week to non Disney, you stick with theme. Always automotive related. And the comments on this video and many others from the past are just so positive. It makes me smile knowing these children (or teens) are watching something that doesn't involve. Let's just say.. crap. Literal just poop replicas in it. I'm 14 now and I still watch alot of your videos. Makes me feel like a kid to be honest(eh.. still kinda act like one considering the username). And I hope your channel will grow more, you really should earn more subs and children watching your videos. (If they're into hot wheels of course). Again, thanks for all your videos throughout the years. And I hope you do well
  • Omg this is so tbt, i havent touched a hotwheels for over 10 years now
