Come along with us to the Superman Celebration 2022 with special guests Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, and George Newbern in Metropolis, Illinois. In this video, we will provide an overview of the Superman Celebration as well as highlights from the Q&A with Smallville actors Tom Welling and Micheal Rosenbaum.

Metropolis, Illinois is know as the home of Superman. At the Superman Celebration, you can easily see the city takes its nickname seriously. Walking up to the courthouse, there was Superman square with a 15 ft tall Superman Statue. During the Celebration, there was also the Celebration Superman at specific times for photos. For 2022, at Superman Square there were a couple Transformers including Optimus Prime as well as Superman themed cars. Next to the Square was the Super Museum and a street lined with vendors. On this trip, we did step into the Super Museum for some souvenirs; however, if you want to see more about the Superman video be sure to check out our original tour of Metropolis, Illinois including the Super Museum, Hope Lighthouse and Fort Massic State Park.    • We Visited The Home Of Superman! | Me...

At the other end of the celebration, there was the "Smallville Tent" with kid-friendly activities and a play area. Artist Alley and Writers Way was nearby in a local building (with A/C). At Artist Alley and Writers Way there were artists and writers in the comic book genres set up selling their merchandise. At specific times, George Newbern was also set-up inside. Guests could purchase autographed merchandise or selfies with George Newbern.

We did also make our way to Super Con, which was a small Comic Con set up a few blocks away. We returned to Cordavinos, a local Italian Restaurant for a great lunch. The Superman Celebration was a great festival for Superman fans as well as individual who love small town festivals.

  • This looks like it would be so much fun. Things to do for kids and autographs as well. Cool adventure.
  • Wow thats pretty amazing that they would have such a full on celebration for this iconic superhero, easily one of the best superheros out there! You've got to love that big rig with the flame paint job! Very cool and unique celebration!
  • Of course there is an actual home to Superman in the US. This looks so fun and I’m not even a huge Superman fan
  • Never been a big comic fan so never knew about this. I do love myself some carnival food though. Been to a couple film conventions though so I imagine this was a blast.
  • Great video! I've been to the Celebration three times this year was going to make the 4th but my plans got derailed at the last second so I appreciate you posting a lot of this if I can't be there in person at least this kind of puts me there in spirit so to speak. Did you guys happen to go to Smallville nights on Saturday night after this Q&A was over?
