Is it just me coming back to this video every few months just to appreciate how smooth and well animated this whole thing was? From the over all visuals to the camera angles and lighting just makes it look sorta like something you would get from an official sonic game and we can all agree we would adore if we got a sonic animated series or game with this same art style and such. The closest thing we've got is fan games but I'm sure sooner or later some inspired game dev will maybe see this and decided "yeah I like this idea" now if you don't mind me I'll replay this video just like you are probably doing a few more times before going to watch something else. See ya.

I keep thinking Mecha Sonic was going to say: “I’LL CRUSH YOU!!!”
  • @Oddy_for
"I'll crush you" That's what I only hear.

Glad I found this again, such a great animation. Would love to see the old genesis games redone in this style. Odd note, in the original sprites for Mecha Sonic, the core bit seen in the chest is actually Mecha's eye. The sprites for when it's chest opens, it's head tilts back as well revealing the core. When placed up with the other sprites in this animation it shows that the core lines up with where it's eye is at in its head.

The models look like the DS character models and it made me all nostalgic.

Holy crap, the effects, the transitins, the camera angles are astounding, it's amazing what people can do and accomplish.

I never knew I needed this in my life. The models look nice and the camera movement was really great!
  • This is so insanely good. It's a bit baffling that there isn't more of this in existence.
