Additional notes:

* Nago is a giant boar appearing in the movie Princess Mononoke, which has a LOT of interesting parallels to BotW. If you haven't seen it already, I strongly recommend it - but don't watch it with small children, as some of the scenes are a bit too gory for younger audiences.

* An in-depth guide for the enemy/weapon scaling mechanic can be found here: www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/8fchi…

* The "Defeat Ganon" un-completing itself is the only thing that slightly annoys me. They wouldn't even have had to change the quest text or any dialogue - just the checkmark staying "completed" would have been enough. As it is now, you'll always have that annoying "X out of Y quests completed" even if you do everything else.

* Two additional pictures unlocking in the Hateno Tech Lab are weapons instead of enemies: The Master Sword and Bow of Light respectively. I guess Nintendo didn't want to spoil what those look like, in case someone buys the full compendium before finishing the story. The same goes for the bosses not being revealed too early.

* Blights fought inside the Sanctum are even harder than inside the Divine Beasts, as each of them gets a full 2k HP instead of the convenient health point scaling. Source: www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/99mp5…

* Kilton's "quest" is a bit confusing. It does not appear in the quest log despite being something that you can call a long-term goal instead of a quick fetch quest. And the "DEFEATED" star only shows up if you have killed the miniboss in question AND talked to Kilton about this specific enemy type. During this video I beat Ganon, talked to Kilton only about Moldugas and assumed this unlocked the markers for the other two as well, but none of the Taluses and Hinoxes gained that "DEFEATED" star until I talked to Kilton again and picked their dialogue options as well. (The markers then showed up retroactively, no need to defeat those foes again. It's just a bit confusing if they're not there if you expect them).

* On a related note, the minibosses encountered inside the Trial of the Sword do NOT count towards this. The only minibosses you'll need are the ones that appear in Hyrule's overworld, as well as the castle and Eventide Island because while those may be "special" locations, they're still part of the overworld. TotS however is an "illusory realm" - everything in there basically only happens inside Link's head.

All I want is for the "defeat Ganon" quest to be shown as complete Literally that's all I want for post game
  • @BL3446
This. I really wish more changed after ganon was defeated. Like at least the npc responses. It would be great if there were specific post game quests.
  • I hope that Tears of the Kingdom has a mechanic similar to Tarrey Town but for the whole map, where you are able to slowly but surely watch hyrule be rebuilt as you play.
  • @Blacksmith52
it still really bugs me that you can NOT EVER finish the defeat Ganon quest because of the way it reloads saves! this comment has more likes than my entire channel 💀💀
  • I initially thought that after you killed Ganon, maybe you could then clear all the enemies off the map, and they wouldn't respawn. I was so wrong.

Jokes on you I already rescued her at least three times. Can"t believe she gets kidnapped again every single time I save her though, at least ganon is quite the gentleman, giving me back the stuff I used to kill him
  • @nikki607
"Go rescue Zelda already before they release the sequel" ... considering this is the goal I have set for myself when they announced it. I feel needlessly targeted😂😂😅
  • I wish they would give us a Rebuild Hyrule mode. I just want to see everyone happy and travel around a safer, prosperous Hyrule!! Even if all the monsters still somehow kept popping back up.. it would just be nice to see Castle Town restored!
  • @Firguy
what changes after Ganon is defeated -Koridai returns to harmony -the birds begin singing -you might even find it beautiful what does not change after Ganon is defeated -the merchant still does not give credit

"Imagine you've put off defeating Ganon for 5 years straight" Listen, I'm not finishing the game until I've seen everything there is to be seen

While I was initially annoyed that there isn't a post-game with a gannon-less hyrule, I realized that a ton of npc dialogue would have to change, Hyrule Castle and a bunch of areas would be drastically changed, blood moons could no longer happen so nothing could ever respawn and the game couldn't reset itself if something goes wrong, and anyone who beats Gannon before 100%-ing the game would be locked out of some quests and have to make a new save file. But yeah, I do wish the "defeat gannon" quest got completed.
  • This alone is why I’m so excited for tears of the kingdom. I want to see more NPC reactions to Link being the actual hero and how people are going to start rebuilding

I remember back when twilight princess released I wanted a post game so badly. It was a bit depressing after such an emotional ending we just get booted back to before fighting ganondorf. But I will say unlike botw, twilight princess showed how life was like after beating ganondorf in the credits which made up for it. Hopefully tears of the kingdom has a post game
  • I think the biggest reason why more people are annoyed there’s no post-game content is because the world feels so alive and there’s the feeling of there being loose ends.
  • This video came out literally the day I finally beat Ganon so I’m happy people are still playing this game before tears of the kingdom
  • @simmaslen5410
I felt so confused and sad after defeating Gabon I thought hyrule would turn into a utopia and everything would be beautiful and back to the way it was instead it was like I didn’t complete anything.. hopefully tears of the kingdom is different

I don't think it's a "what you're used to in other games" thing, I think it's an age thing. I was so surprised and disappointed that Ocarina of Time didn't let me walk around in the world where everything was fixed. I was sure I'd be able to thaw out Zora's domain... because I was a kid. oh and I totally sympathize with you on how some dingdongs can be who don't understand basic logic.
  • @CyanicCore
While the general lack of change is unsatisfying after all of the damage we've seen, finally learning Ganon's defeat at least does something is quite nice! Thanks for being so thorough.
  • I actually didn’t know about the elite pictures. I just never really bothered with Symin or completing the compendium

I'm used to older games really ending after the final boss, so, being a completionist, I tried my best to do EVERYTHING before beating Ganon. And by everything, I mean every quest, every memory, every shrine and Divine Beast, collect every Korok seed, expand my inventory to the max, all minigames, all pictures in the Compendium, collect all different types of armour (until I realized it's not really possible), upgrade all armour to the max, defeat every single enemy, and open every single treasure chest. However, at some point into this endeavour, I learned that you can continue playing after defeating Ganon and so I defeated him before I had opened all the treasure chests and defeated every single enemy. However, I had defeated so many enemies throughout my game that I had silver bokoblins and lizalfos before I did my first Divine Beast!
