    I had this book as a hardcover as a toddler in the late 90s and the illustrations always freaked me out but looking at it now its kind of charming.

    Did they also have a book that was like the Big Bad Wolf telling what really happened with the Three Little Pigs, and it's like the straw from the house made him sneeze and the house came down and killed the pig which the wolf then ate because he didn't want it to go to waste. It was actually kind of gruesome because you saw the pigs' corpses. In the US we had Reading Rainbow with LeVar Burton and Bedtime Stories with Shelley Duvall (RIP). IT's funny because I remember an older sibling watching The Shining and I was shocked the lady from the storybook show was in this really unsettling film.
