About Ayla Tesler-Mabe:
Ayla has been making waves in the world of guitar playing as a professional guitarist, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and composer, since the early age of 14. After only playing for two years, her first YouTube video (a rendition of John Mayall’s “Hideaway”) put her on the map and kickstarted her music career. She has since been featured in Rolling Stone magazine, become a member of the Ernie Ball and Fender family of artists, and earned various Berklee College of Music scholarships. Musically, Ayla finds great pleasure in exploring the numerous avenues available to her through various styles of music, as seen through her work with Calpurnia and Ludic.

My favorite Riffs of 2022 are 'bad spell' from Larkin Poe and 'the steeple' from Halestorm. Thanks for your great content!

  • Iron Lung inclusion took me by surprise! awesome selection of riffs in this vid, really appreciate the concise walkthrough of these riffs, your pacing as a teacher is top notch. all hail king gizz :=)
  • Jonny Greenwood's riff on Thin Thing & John Frusciante's outro riff on White Braids were my favourites this year

Hey Ayla, great selection of new riffs! I try to learn them all, thanks! I have same guitar as yours, HS Duo Sonic but in black. I have a question about strings you are using for lower tunings, specially drop c#, is it the same strings as for regular e standard? Thanks, Martin

That's some nice tone 😎🤘🏻 especially on that Iron Lung, what's the secret??? 😉👍🏻
  • I think the best year's Day 2014 and 2015 learning Minor scales pentatonic Fmaj7 , B Sus 4 , C add9 , Bmaj7 and Am , Bm , Dsus 4 and also D dominant 7 .
  • Awesome Ayla! PATD and Willow were favs. The crushing Willow riff sounds like something Mark Tremonti would've played in Creed. You play it well you certainly rock.
  • @AngeloAyyy
"All Comes Crashing" by Metric, the riff after the choruses is amazing

Wowwwwww😮 you saw funny and best Teacher. What fun, you are full of humor and your teaching is really pleasant and clear. A lovely day and life.
  • Dear Ayla. I'm an old guy. & I like blues & classic rock. But although it's an old song to younger players. It's still new to me. I never really understood the meaning of the lyrics. But I love the guitar sounds of Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam. I know theirs a lot of videos on this song. But can you give a lesson on it? I like the way you teach. I think you have a pleasing tone to my ear. And it looks like you have a soft touch with your fingers. Were someone like me that started out with a Mel Bay guitar done easy book etc... I feel like I'm trying to push my fingers through the fret board. Lol. Thank You.
  • @lbarj
Will it Chug? Yes, it does! Sounds great on "Its my fault " I believe you would enjoy more metal in the repertoire you have an awesome chug and palm mute lets see a colab with you and Ola, Ayla .
  • @frankboyd.
