To use the many cool Bluetooth capabilities a BBC micro:bit has, you need a hex file on the micro:bit which contains the Bluetooth 'services' and you need to 'pair' your micro:bit with a phone, tablet or other suitable device. This video shows you how to pair with an Android phone or tablet. Note that this video shows "passkey pairing" which requires a PIN to be entered. There's another way that pairing might work called "Just Works pairing" which involves the same procedure except you will not be required to enter a PIN. Which way pairing works depends on the code (hex file) on the micro:bit.
