NON STOP 12 Month Renovation On This Abandoned Chateau | BEFORE & AFTER Timelapse.

Published 2024-03-31
Bonjour à tous.

This week at the chateau, we take a look back at when we bought the crumbling Chateau de Lalacelle. Abandoned for over 40 years, this beautiful monument was in a sad state of disrepair, with crumbling chimneys, broken widows and leaking roof, the chateau did not have must life left in her.

But 3 years on and now the chateau is back to life with a unbelievable makeover, and the reveal of the new 400 suite.

About us,

We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.

The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.

Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK and Escape to rural France to restore this beautiful building to its former glory.

Terry, this has been an absolutely brilliant adventure for you and all of those close to you... The excellence you've all strived for shows in all of the finished spaces... It's just perfection... I'm thrilled to have had the privilege to share in your journey via video... It's been an absolute pleasure!
  • It amazes me every time I see your work. So amazing. Everyone says people cannot do the same level of work that was done in the past, but you have come close to doing so. This place could not have fallen into better hands!

If any chateau deserves recognition it’s yours. With minimal help you’ve created a magnificent place. All the luck in the world with the rest of the renovations ❤❤❤❤

From caravans and broken windows to restored rooms and a couple of homes. I thought you were nuts sleeping in caravans in the winter. Seems i was totally blinded to what Terry invisioned. Great work guys❤❤

The chateau is a living witness of human determination.
  • The vision from the beginning of restoration to now is just breathtaking. The hard work, the attention to detail, the unexpected surprises like the rotten beams over the windows, apart from anywhere else, seriously you have achieved miracles. It's the impossible that takes a bit longer but you truly are an inspiration. Congratulations on what you have done so far and greatly looking forward to seeing what happens next. 🙌👏

This video was so professionally crafted, it must have taken hours and hours to put this together with the music..perfection !! I have been following you folks since you first pulled into the driveway. Looking at the before and after all of your work makes me feel so proud of what you have done. I'm also mindful of what you guys created in your living space, your mom's cottage and the work you have done on the outside and the grounds too on top of all that you have shown here. Congratulations on three years of working hard and creating a place of beauty.

Omg you’ve come so far. Most people would have seen it as a money pit and run a mile. Well done, the château needed you all and your considerable talents

I remember that first visit to Lalacelle. Hard to believe it was three years ago, but you have made a lot of progress in the chateau, cottage and grounds. Congratulations on hanging in there.
  • As an Interior Decorator, I can sit for days watching content such as these. During my time in college when we were given a brief of a space to decorate for assignment. Classic style was my go to, I love it.
  • @olligo330
A great reminder of the monumental task you all took on and the amazing successes you've encountered along the way.
  • It just goes to show what blood, sweat, and tears can achieve. I am proud to say that a family from the town I was born in have achieved their dream, and I for one am looking forward to see what happens next. Love as always from County Durham xxx ❤
