Directed Energy Science Builds Revisited - Star Trek Online

There are the 3 main flavours of the AUX cannons Phaser, Plasma and Disruptor. The Plasma version comes from 3 T6 ships Surhuelh Reconnaissance Explorer Warbird, Taenen Strategic Explorer Warbird and Galas Surveillance Explorer Warbird. The Disruptor version come from the 3 T6 science multi mission ships, Khaimas Multi-Mission Reconnaissance Vessel, Ihgomas Multi-Mission Strategic Vessel and Ahgamas Multi-Mission Surveillance Vessel. The Phaser versions can come from the T5 or T6 science multi mission ships, so if STO gives away a T5 token in Feb like they have done for the last 2 years even FTP can get the phaser versions for free.

Thanks for this man. I'm an altaholic, I have 7 to 11 toons I like to play, all have different build/damage themes. Except for 2 sci officers that are science builds. You've just opened the door for some half and half shenanigans for me.

I wonder if cryptic realized the damage potential of secondary deflectors when they made science ships give up two weapons to have them, while letting flight deck carriers keep all 8 weapons. I'm thinking they probably had no idea and it just sort of worked out by accident.

After about 2 or 3 years, ive still never really try out the science builds...I should do that

🤔 I just had the thought of putting these consoles with a RRtW3 build on either the Equinox/Nova or the Vulcan Jellyfish. The Chimesh or its equivalents would probably work great too.

Add Console - Universal - Enhanced Induction Coils to the build. +50 Wpn/Eng/Aux pwr

Aux cannons for plasma and disruptor come from the rom and kdf versions of the vesta. Explorer warbirds and gorn science ships Don't they?

So how would this compare with swapping out the Energy Field Gradient Projectors for the same number Isomags, and what would be the pros and cons of each? I imagine the EFGP setup would take longer to charge up with Analysis stacks but then would it be doing more dps than the Isomag setup?

Do you find the legendary vesta to be vital or could one of the base T6-X2 upgrade vestas work just as well? Also, due to the lack of engine power might the plasma storm console be a better choice over the dragon?

Do you have a suggestion for a The Ruin of Our Enemies alternative? Calm before the Storm maybe? My Eng has everything but that trait.

Does the drain have to come from an ability? Wouldn't Plasmonic Leech constantly trigger the consoles?

What drains trigger the consoles ? I would like to use it on a different ship that does not have a command seating.

Your AUX was dipping low prob coz of AUX cannons, maybe using normal cannons would be better, i know power is low there but your aux was dipping to that level anyways. Wouldnt Disruptor one also work alot better as Five Magiks give so much bonus damage to them etc.

One thought, how would a sci destroyer as a dewsci go since you can use the plasma bombardment experimental weapon in sci mode
