It's an unbelievably satisfying feeling when wildlife trusts you.

"She was rewarded for her persistence" Then she proceeds to take a dump on your lawn. Thanks for feeding.

I had a very friendly little grey Fox and her mate in my back yard for several years. She would sit on my back porch until I got home from work, and gave her a cup of dog food. She would also take a break from tending her babies and lay down beside me when I sat on the porch. She always rewarded me by bringing her babies into the back yard for me to admire. It was such a joy to be a part of her life.

Back between 1996 and 1998 we had a Vixen who decided that she preferred the company of humans. Her mother was the Alpha holding the territory and we used to leave her food. Our Vixen was the curious cub who was fascinated by the "Bringer of the food" namely my father. So when her mother suddenly died of illness she became the new Alpha and decided that she was going to live in both the wild and domestic world. My father would go for walks with her, she'd sit outside with him, jump up on him to greet him and act just like a domestic dog except she slept all day in her den nearby. One summer she disappeared for 2 weeks and returned with 5 cubs, which she left with us to look after (her family as far as she was concerned) whilst she went next door to sleep in a neighbours garden (they fed her too). Wild Fox cubs, just like puppies, are into everything they can bite, chew, sniff or pee on. The house and what was in it was especially of interest to them. A few weeks later she was dead having trod on the 3rd electric rail on the line out the back of us. She was badly burnt and died crawling back into our garden. We continued feeding the juvenile Foxes but they were totally wild and soon left. My father missed her the most as she was like the family dog to him and she showed him a lot of affection.

When people complain about foxes they do not realise that foxes keep rats and mice a bay. I'm so glad you look after your foxes.

This fox is a boss. Eats their food and then poops on their lawn
  • We also have a fox. I’ve been feeding every day for the last few years, even when we go on holiday I make sure he is provided for by our friend who comes and feeds the cats. He has a ton of dog food everyday and what ever the cats leave and the dog and also us. He has bought the cubs with him as well. We always feed him at night, if I go and sit in the garden he will come and sit with me and let me stroke him and rub his belly. Lol we have even given flea and worm treatment. He is such a handsome boy now, he has filled out and he has the most amazing shiny coat and puffy tail, I feel quite honoured that he trusts us and trusts us enough to bring the babies with him

A fox came round our house and took only one piece of fruit off our tree each night. Knowing his routine, I watched as each time he did it differently. Sometimes jumping to grab the fruit; sometimes he would climb the tree. Then he jumped on the picnic table to reach. Then on the bench. Each time taking only one fruit!

Thank you for being kind and good to her. I think she came to you looking for help and you gave it. Since we humans have essential taken over the entire earth, I think we have an obligation to look after all the animals that we’ve effected.

Fox was smart - approach food very cautiously. That bowl could have been a pressure snap-trap.

I just was putting some food out to feed a racoon that comes by my home last night and i looked out my living room window and there was a beautiful fox. It was so cold last night about 15 degrees it is very hard for the wildlife to survive during the winter months. Food is hard to come by, so i put food out for them A lovely video. God bless you for feeding this beautiful animal.
