A Totally Normal Day with Power Wheelchair Soccer and The Milford Fun Days Car Show 2024

Here is an inspirational story about meeting a famous YouTuber and collaborating on a project:

Years ago, I started watching a YouTuber named "Totally Normal" to learn how to program features on my Permobil brand wheelchair. Totally Normal knows the ins and outs of just about everything, and he even helped reset some features on my Permobil F3.

Recently, I had the chance to finally meet up with Totally Normal in person at the Plassman Athletic Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana for the US Power Soccer tournament www.powersoccerusa.org/events.I got to see his main group of friends and we worked on a project together - creating a custom bracket to hold valuable wheelchair equipment that didn't have a proper holder before. Dan 3D printed the first prototype, and then I had it tooled out of 6061 billet aluminum. It was great to be able to hand Totally Normal the first finished product for him to test.

After wrapping up our project work, we said our goodbyes and parted ways. The next day, June 15th, marked our 1st date together 22 years ago with my wife, Amy. We celebrated by watching the Milford Parade with friends and family, then entering my 70' Dart in the car show. It was a special day to reflect on another year together, with hopefully many more to come.

This experience of connecting with Totally Normal, collaborating on an assistive technology project, and celebrating a milestone in my personal life was truly inspirational. I'm grateful for the knowledge Totally Normal has shared, and the opportunity to work together to create something helpful. It's moments like these that make me excited for what the future holds.
