The Ethiopian Empire was reinstated after the Italian Occupation of Ethiopia but faced constant famine, discontent and riots, plus separatist movements that crippled the Empire allowing for the rise of the Derg, which conducted mass atrocities and genocide against the Oromo, Tigray, Gambellan and Somali, the TPLF would overtime gain control of the country against the regime, leading to the Fall of Addis Ababa and the end of the Derg regime.
