As exciting as Auburn's own radio call of the Kick Six was, I've always liked Verne's call because of its simplicity. "Touchdown, Auburn; an answered prayer!" is about as perfect a description as I can imagine.

"Who the hell is Happy Gilmore?" 😂

One of his greatest quotes ever, pre-game LSU vs. Alabama 2011. "Those of us who love this sport live for nights like this." "On a night like this, stars are SUPPOSED to shine. We've got a galaxy from which to choose."

The GOAT! Had me tearing up when they brought him back for the SEC on CBS tribute montage a few months ago
  • Verne has been there and on the call for some of the greatest moments in sports history. He is much, MUCH more than amazing and legendary. The man is simply phenomenal and I hope he enjoys retirement. 🤘

The 2013 Auburn Football Return is still awesome to this day

One of the greatest ever. The Tiger Woods chip in at 16 will always be my favorite. Thank you Verne for all the memories!
  • Verne was the best at capturing the moment without stealing the moment. Is he the greatest ever? "Maybe...... Yes Sir!"

The laetnerr shot gives me chills till this day.
  • 13 is my favorite, Verne would always get so pissed when coaches made stupid decisions and it cracked me up!
  • @sports3117
One of the great sportscasters of all time. Just always delivered when the moment calls for it
  • I lived in Dallas for several years back when Verne was on a local TV station there. Always enjoyed his commentary then and for the many years since. Thanks for the memories, Verne.
