I just finished watching the documentary "Quincy" on Netflix - probably not the best time to comment on anything bc my head is full. He was fond of saying people put American music in lots of categories when really there are only 2 categories: good and bad. I agree, and I add there are people like Miley who also try very hard to defy categories. My first response to your "Wrecking Ball" is that you have arranged the music into something quite beautiful on its own. (Her original video is hard to forget.) I love her Backyard Sessions, like "Look What They've Done to My Song." I want to listen again tomorrow.
