The Lyman Great Plains Rifle carried by pioneers and fur trappers was the culmination of percussion firearms development designed and built by such famous makers as Hawken Gemmer and Demick to the specifications of experienced backwoodsmen. Only the best and most reliable designs were acceptable. Today fitted with a 57GPR offers an immediate improvement in accuracy for the target shooter or hunter. Features 1/4 minute micrometer click adjustments for elevation and windage, quick release slide. The 17 AEU is a low silhouette front sight and provides precise accuracy on the range, they are supplied with seven interchangeable inserts. Old eyes, like mine, appreciate an aperture sight closer to the sighting eye. Teamed up with a Lyman globe front sight and the right aperture insert for it, this makes a great combo for putting meat on the table.
