I've gotta say, that translator did a great job - I really got the sense that she was conveying the director's tone and energy on top of just translating the literal words.
  • @mrb2349
I really liked how expressive the interpreter for the director of Godzilla Minus One movie was. She conveyed not only what the director said but also how it felt.
  • @MissMisnomer_
There is something so endlessly charming about miniature work that even when it's not done well, it's still fun to watch
  • @shpadoinkleday
01:08 That’s Jet Jaguar in the first clip. Respect the man, he helped save humanity!!
  • @terranbricklin
The interpreter for that director is such an unsung hero; her ability to convey his little chuckles and inflections is insanely good.
  • I would love to see a Godzilla inspired Corridor short with actual rubber suits
  • @Iunio92
I watched Minus One today in IMAX. I'm glad I went in with very little context; it was actually my first Godzilla movie. Pretty incredible CGI and overall a very solid movie, definitely one to see with a booming sound system
  • @kadenfauble
Went and saw Godzilla Minus One today as my first foreign movie in theaters. It was really good. The atmosphere, the music, the overall imposing nature of Godzilla it was all done really well
  • @aggiefan88
Godzilla Minus One was fantastic. I cannot recommend it enough as a lifelong Godzilla fan. It may be the best in the entire series. That mine boat chase scene.....OOF
  • @dylanracho3536
Fun fact: the rubber suit for the 1984 Godzilla movie was stolen after filming ended and while not an entirely uncommon occurrence it has still not been found to this day
  • @keineahnung4331
I just saw Godzilla Minus 1 and ive got to say that it was one of the most nostalgia hitting movies ive seen in a while Heck! One of the best movies ive seen in 5 years
  • Just watched Godzilla Minus One and it is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Godzilla is terrifying at times. The graphics are insane. The atomic breath is incredible.
  • @AnthonyMcNeil
2014 Godzilla had so much weight to it and it was very solid visual effects. The airport scene is so great at visualizing Godzilla's scale.
  • @Mtaalas
Whoever was translating from Japanese, that's REALLY GOOD. They understand the candidness when it's there and localize that to an american way of speaking. Japanese people can be very VERY formal when talking to a camera on an interviewer, so when you translate that, it can sound very stiff. And sometimes people do not dare to translate even less formal speech to properly non formal English. Good job!

Godzilla minus one was amazing. They truly understood how to convey a compelling story while bringing the terror of Godzilla to life. By far probably one of the strongest iterations of Godzilla
  • Godzilla Minus One was absolutely amazing. If you haven't seen it, go see it. It's not just a monster movie, it's a movie about what it means to live with your decisions and overcoming your greatest failures.
  • @teruphoto
7:12 That translator was a joy to listen to. I loved how she incorporated emotion into the translations
  • I'm surprised corridor didn't talk about how they made the new movie so cheap yet look so flawless and awesome in vfx.

Godzilla is a great series to look at for visual effects, because it represents almost a different lineage of effects philosophy from what we're used to in American films. it's 70 years of filmmakers using every trick in the book to make something small look huge with relatively limited resources, and I think there's a lot to learn from that.
