Published 2024-04-07
The silver libertad is a fan favorite but did know know they have 4 different variations of the libertad? In this video I go over those differences and which one is my favorite.

  • No doubt... The Libertad and The Centenario are my favorite coin designs to have and hold wuth exception to ancient coins and Spanish Treasure coins. I cant make up my mind which design I love more. I love the old Onzas too with the Coin Press on them.

I love all libertads. I prefer the older libertads. In fact, I just scored 9 of them Friday, and they were 1983 and the LCS owner let me have them for $35.20 each. Normally he lets me have them for $30 to $33 dollars when silver spot is much lower. That was a great deal to me. Thank you for sharing yours.
  • I hit the thumbs up as soon as I heard you apologize for sounding super white...haha, love it.

I was today years old when I learned the true obvers/reverse of libertads 😂thank you!

Hands-down, my favorite coin! No other coin has the depth, variety, CLASS and history that the Libertad has. Thanks for the latest history lesson. 👍

I love Mexican Libertads. My favourite is the Type 1, of the 4 types. What I like the most about the Type 1 is the edge lettering on the coin and the compactness (what I call chunkiness). 1982, 1983 and 1985 are rhe most common Type 1s. The lowest minted Libertads are the late 1990s - 1997, 1998 and 1999. 2014 is another key date for the Libertad. You will not find as many for sale as other dates.

Platinum type 4 obverse and reverse on the type 1 size with the lettered edges, all in a reverse proof finish. There’s my pipe dream

Salute And Cheers To All Stackers
  • Mexican silver Libertad’s and American silver Eagles are the only two coins I buy in bulk, everything else I just collect here and there. I really appreciate your 5 once reverse proof!

Libertads, my favorite coin. Have a few Reverse Proofs, 2022 Magnificent 7 Proof set. I plan to stack a tube of 1 oz BU Libs every year for the next 20 years (God Willing). Have tubes of 2022 and 2023 so far. A few 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz BU and Proof Gold, not sure about the Gold Reverse Proofs. I prefer Gold that is as easy to sell as possible, especially with the price of Gold these days. Don't want to have to rely on Ebay to sell some low mintage coin, and get hit with the 13%+ ebay fee.

I love them , they are ridiculously expensive here in Australia but I just don’t care they are worth every cent 👍

I prefer the Onzas I'm glad I loaded up when I could buy them for $20 😊

Would love to see a video on all the different variations and mint errors. E.g. 99 mule , detached wing ,missing feathers, 98 cap or crown.

Love all things Libertad but definitely dont stack them. Have a few hogh premium collectables that are a few of my favorites pieces of silver. One even being last years Narco Libertad with only 100 minted when the Narco's are normally 500 minted. Picked up a 2023 Proof 70 Libertad this last month also to add to the collection. Im hoping it was a smart purchase for a value increase potential piece. My other reverse proof Libertad is another favorite piece i own and its unmatched other than with my reverse proof type 1 and type 2 eagle set. That being said, i really would like to get a 1/20 or a tenth oz proof to turn into a pendant for my thick necklace. Im not sure which size would be best for a thick piece like that but i think id even invest into one of the cheaper jewelry torches to get it done myself.

Of all the Libs I have, once side by side, I think the prettiest and best value (speaking low mintage) is the 2 oz Reverse Proof. Cheaper than the 1 oz's when they first release (for 2023 the 1 oz was around $259 and 2 oz was $229, so a much lower premium). And the planchet size on the 2 oz just looks great when viewing between a 5 oz and 1 oz size RP.

I love the type 4 but I also have some type 1s
