This is PR. Both are defending each other rather than themselves.

32:06 Sam looking very uncomfortable when Brian sniffs his coke on stage
  • OpenAI was started as a non-profit company with open source code available to the public to participate in the process, void of corporate greed, and true transparency. Now we have ClosedAI, a for-profit company with closed source code only available to large corporations. We are locked out from participating in the process, corporate greed is taking over, and there is very little transparency. This interview should not convince you otherwise. Do your own research and don’t rely on these soft ball interviews from the mainstream media that rarely dig deeper to follow through on the tough questions.

Why are journalists so bad at asking the obvious relevant questions about AI? Most of the questions asked here have been asked and answered many times before. Hint: DATA…New data…synthetic data… «How are these new data structures being created?» Journalists never ask about this, nobody is speaking about it, and yet this will be the foundation of all future LLMs and have enormous societal impact.

Just a bunch of platitudes, save you time
  • Soon service companies like State Farm Insurance will be able to fit into a computer the size of small room run by one person. their only employee.

Great job Lester, really enjoyable interview. Brian Chesky is so impressive as a design thought leader. I may not like air bnb but I really like Brian and his style of leadership, not only in his company but also apparently as thought leader for ai as well, which he is really well suited for, balancing his intellectual with his creative.
  • In the 5 days he was fired he didn’t even focus on self preservation. 😂😂 guy is worth 1 billion $, somehow I think he would have managed without a job

Fair process if you have inside connections. Not if you are just a number l.
  • @tomtyiu
Sam Altman has a positive outlook of AI but still cautious! Hopefully AI will take off as super intelligent but still be controlled!

Airbnb kicked me off their application 4 years ago for an reason unbeknownst to me. They’re policy to ban people from this service and not consider the possibility of restoration is like something in the Middle Ages where people were jailed for life without knowing the reason why. I want my account back. I didn’t do anything to get myself banned!!!

Brian and Sam I guess, Brain started AirBNB at YCombinator under Sam's guidance. Now Brain is ahead in terms of wealth and knowledge. He’s giving back.
  • Why don’t people ask details of what exactly happened which led to the firing of Sam. A follow up question was needed
  • @ellielikesmath
wow, it's so bad that a channel with 10 million subscribers doesn't try to get the closed captions right on their videos. no proofreading is just not acceptable here. the one i saw "Providence" vs. what he actually said which was "provenance".

Dear sam altman. Since you are the figurehead of AGI, good luck and please do the right thing even if it means giving up or going against your personal interests
  • I have been wondering when the new voice feature is gonna be added to chatgpt 4o.
