Everyone thinks consistency is king, but consistency alone doesn't lead to sustainable motivation or results. If we want to get 1% every day, actually make progress and not burn out, there's another important ingredient we need called self-reflection. And this idea is highlighted from Carol Dweck's growth mindset. In this video I'll explore our process for getting 1% better, self-improving, so you can study for exams with peace of mind.

🙏 Thanks for watching!

Self reflect + Consistency = Growth Mindset 1. Collect Data - Collect data from every experiences and identify everything - how long...?, How do I feel.? 2. Calculate for new insights- Ask the right questions to yourself - Reactive learning - Is there a problem that needs to be changed Reframed learning - Why did the problem rise in the first place. uncover insights on why the problems Transformative learning - Why do I need to fix this problem. What will happen if I fix it and why will happen if I don't fix it Self reflection is a cycle of breaking down our beliefs and rebuilding them Reconnecting our values Why do we need to change, what we believe change will do for us 3. Course Correct - you have to set Goals on correcting those problems or maybe tasks Use SMART - Specific - Clearly defined outcome of our gaols based on a practice M - Measurable - Collect data from a practice - Things I failed and things I got A- Achievable - not out of reach R - Relevant - Lies with our values and beliefs T - Time Bound - Provide an ETA and deadline and Urgency Don't let your consistency and motivation go to waste with no self reflection

I have a philosophy I follow nowadays - trying to juggle between my newly opened business, my video editor and social media manager freelancing gigs, gym and learning korean, I can’t really hit my routine every day. So if for example I wake up at 10 instead of 7am for whatever reason, I just keep going from that point on and complete my day, I don’t go “Imma try again tomorrow” nah man I’m just wasting time like that. Point is - I follow this method, and I also don’t judge myself, I behave like a robot - “oh cool I have this scheduled for 10am, thus I should do it, being 10am” cause if I go on a self-deprecating monologue about how much of a failure I am for waking up 3h late, that’s gonna first ruin my mood and second make me lose even more time. Ps. Love u guys, one of the best and most colorful YouTubers on the platform, I adore your graphics and thumbnails

I cant tell how good the timing of this video is. Im currently preparing for my board exam, and been trying to be as much productive as I can. I literally even deleted my social media profiles, made a calendar, scheduled my whole month, all detailed, set up my notion, pomodoro literally everything, all thanks to you guys and your superb videos. However my consistency didn't seem to be well off, and there were days when I studied 8-9 hours, and some days not even 1, despite having everything planned . I was currently going through a slump and was not able to figure out the wrong part in my plan. This video was completely on time for me, just when I needed it. I really cant thank you guys enough for helping me through your video, I really admire you guys. Keep making great videos like this, I look forward to each of them😊

Thank you so much for making this video. This is profound!!!! This is what I was missing. I was struggling and couldn't figure out how I was not improving and would repeat over the same 'consistency' game over and over again. This is gold!
  • This channel helps me so much with everything day to day! I love you guys, don't stop the work

This was so timely! Currently in a demotivated slump where I'm just not able to get anything done, hoping to make progress as was explained so clearly in this video. Thanks for the efforts you make for the student community Mike and Matty.

This is such a great video man! (as always), but this is definitely a big help since I myself am currently in this predicament of improving and then my progress getting plunged after some time.

Hello Cajun Koi Academy Fans, lol. This channel is like a golden opportunity for me, my other friends don't even know about this channel. I got like 3.47 or something GPA. In 7 class btw. In nepal in the 8th grade there is a "BLE" examination in the final term that is taken by the government, Thank You So Much For Providing Me This Chance. But i feel sad that people don't watch this channel that much. Personally, I search Your Channel Everyday to become better lol. This time, I am Gonna Try Past Papers😂❤🎉
