“I wouldn't mind leaving this word, I just wish that when we do, I would be able to remember you.”

The Eternals was definitely not my favorite movie from the MCU. I felt lost in the movie and the characters. That being said, I thought Ikaris truly shined in the movie, brilliantly portrayed by Richard Madden. His conflict was truly interesting and I wish It would have been pushed further in the movie.

Second video of the year, I truly hope you enjoy the content coming so far. Lots of more to come and when I say a lot, I mean it. Enjoy !

  • In my eyes, Ikaris is the most complex character in the movie: the line he toes between duty and love was beautifully written, and in the end, he chose love; he chose his family yet he couldn't reconcile within himself the feeling he'd like not only let Arishem down but also the people he cared about it.

“I wouldn't mind leaving this word, I just wish that when we do, I would be able to remember you.” This line I swear brings a weight to my chest and just makes me want to cry.

Ikaris perfectly represented the struggle between choosing love or duty... The pain when he realized that he had failed in his duty and couldn't return to his love again just broke him and he couldn't spare himself to love anymore 😭😭. Why can't Robb Stark just be happy for once

I know this movie has been pretty divisive, but I personally enjoyed it and loved Ikarus' struggle between his duty, his family, and his love. He didn't want to betray or hurt them, but he was doing what he was ordered to do by Arishem. And I think his ending was extremely poetic. Thank you for this edit. It's beautiful.

"If I'd gone back to her, I would have only told her the truth. She would have suffered" People who hate Ikaris cannot comprehend the struggles of his character and how the ending brought all those struggles together for one final decision of love or purpose.

It's sad that most of the people hate him because he "betrayed them", he's the most complex characther in the movie, they just didn't pay attention to the movie
  • Ikaris and Druig are the most misunderstood characters in the movie, both of them just want best for everyone but Ikaris chose Duty to his makers and Druig chose love for Humanity and even with this parallel and rivalry between, the are more closer and similar, two sides of the same coin. I think Ikaris chose to sacrifice everything, his love, his mother (like figure), his home and the people in it and his family ( rest of the Eternals) for a higher purpose and at the end the man did not have the resolve to see it to it's end and chose love over Duty. First time i watched the movie, it didn't grow on me, but i still loved and prefered Druig over everyone else but watching it again multiple times made me realise how much of a hero Ikaris was, from a human's pov he might be a villain, but if you look at the greater good, he is not, he sacrificed everything, at the end, even his life.
  • Ikaris was undoubtedly the best character in Eternals. Hope we see him rise as in the future projects the way we know him in the comics.
  • @Bootschnickens
If Superman fell in love before loving humanity, this would be the result. An absolute. Would save their one and only vs all others. Even if they would sacrifice themselves for others.

Ikaris is just such a great character. People say he's evil and stuff but thats what makes him interesting. Plus i like his accent

"i love you cerci, im greatful for the life ive lived with you" as someone who just got dumped from a 6 year relationship this hits home really hard. its easy to be angry, depressive, feel isolated. but its hard to stare into that face you love so much and know that despite it ending. they have been the best years of your life. and wouldn't trade it for anything.....
  • @SWFT_edits
Ikaris was a big highlight of the film. Really loved what you did with his character in this, breathtaking editing as usual!
  • @natashadarko3066
I feel like people got him wrong. I personally never saw pride or arrogance just loyal and devotion to the wrong person.
  • I have mad respect for Ikarus, a true soldier following what he deemed good and righteous. Would we be any different in his shoes? One of my favorite characters in the show
  • @Mnxeu
I'm so glad Richard Madden is getting all this love because he absolutely deserves it. Eternals doesn't deserve the amount of hate it recieved; sure, it's not everyone's cup of tea and it's not the perfect Marvel movie but damn it was a good film and had one amazingly diverse cast. Ikaris was such a complex character and Richard was brilliant at portraying that. I loved that they showed his struggle, whilst his ending was in a way poetic; I hope we do see him again... somehow. He's a great addition to the Marvel Universe. Plus "I wouldn't mind leaving this word, I just wish that when we do, I would be able to remember you." Man... that's one hell of a quote. Fantastic edit, as always!
