Spider-Verse! Probably the prettiest movie made last year, potentially one of the prettiest ever. One that got great reviews but not as many people as you'd expect went out to see it. Here's why you should definitely go see the next one in theatres! Everything right with Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse!

  • One of the funnier moments was Gwen faking Gwanda as an African name and then realizing she's talking to an African American kid and switching to South African and her expression is priceless

An honourable mention I’d like to add: Spider-Man B goes the first half of the movie depressed enough that he’s willing to die numerous times, and it’s not until toward the end of the movie he starts thinking he’s not just expendable. This subtle nod to mental health and self worth was really a nice touch. Even a stone in a river can get worn down over time, but with fellow stones beside you, it’s not so bad :)
  • Imagine getting hit by a bagel, getting a win from CinemaWins for getting hit my a bagel, becoming a black hole guy, becoming powerful as hell, and getting ignored.
  • Personally a huge thing for me is Noir having the worst origin story (huge nightmares about spider totems, uncle Ben being cannibalized, the Great Depression, etc) but acknowledging that Miles’ still is hardcore as well

you missed one thing that Spider Pig has the most realistic line in the movie "miles....the hardest part about this job is you cant save everyone"
  • @josephgamel5190
Another thing is that when Miles is first learning to be spider man, he's animated at half the frames during action sequences so he looks choppy and not as clean as the other spider people
  • Something else is when Peter asked Olivia if her friends called her Doc Oc she says “my friends actually call me Liv” and then later, when the spider gang hangs out in aunt Mays house, she says “oh great it’s Liv” hinting that Doc Oc and aunt May were at one point friends.

A cool detail I loved as an anime fan is that Peni's lips don't always match up with what she's saying. Just like how anime with English dubs never completely line up as well.
  • @otisjoi
Cinema wins: “we get so much interesting stuff in the opening logos” Cinema sins: “logos too long and boring”
  • @TheFireboy102
“That’s all folks” “I-is he allowed to say that? Legally speaking I mean” That joke made me laugh the hardest
  • One tiny detail that I love about the Leap of Faith scene is that earlier Miles says he's better at running than at swinging in webs. Later, when he crosses the city to get in the collider we see that he does a lot more of free running/parkour than any of the spiders, almost like the Prowler if he had webshooters. Just amazing
  • @_Celestial
"This is a pretty hardcore origin story" is the best line in a movie ever
  • @lexscarlet
"it's disrespectful, spiderman doesn't wear a cape." says the spiderman rocking the sweatpants
  • @silverwolf5071
I think some people have said this but when Miles ask "how many spiderman are out there?" Peter B. replies with "wait until comic Con" (I enjoyed that a lot)
  • I actually love King Pin being HUGE. He’s intimidating, takes up the whole screen, and FEELS so powerful.
  • @Avankiri
Miles being black is a huge thing from what I've seen and heard. My favorite story is the time a kid of around 10 or 12 set some Spiderman comics down on a store counter for purchase. The clerk asked who his fave Spiderman was, and the kid got confused cause he only knew about Peter Parker. The clerk shows him Ultimate Spiderman with Miles and the kid runs screaming to his mom "MOM! MOM! SPIDERMAN LOOKS LIKE ME! SPIDERMAN LOOKS LIKE ME!" Representation matters, folks.
  • @mettor
You missed the EPIC WIN when Aunt May gives Miles the webshooters and says, "they fit perfectly" which is a direct callback to when Stan Lee says, "It always fits... eventually" when giving him the suit!
  • @deelim5092
Sony:makes emoji movie Also Sony: makes Spiderman into the spider verse Me:confused screaming
  • @thisworldsans
I absolutely love the line "I don't think my atoms are real jazzed about being in the wrong dimension."
  • @Avatarbee
I love it when Doc Ock called Miles Spiderman. It's like he officially became the Spiderman once one of Spiderman's greatest villain acknowledged him.
