volume of cylinder is V = πr²h r=2.5415 ft h=6.75 ft V= 136.97 ft^3 Density of concrete ranges quite a lot it seems, but we'll go with 140-150 lb/ft^3 for "normal concrete" So probably weighs between 19175lbs - 20546 lbs.

Cleet, the 4440 is one of the all time greatest John Deeres ever made. It was the highest HP machine made by JD and still have a 540 PTO. Also, the 466T was one of the best engines ever made. You seriously have a classic on your hands.

I just love jackstands involvement, always there to help, always supportive, and has always seemed to be by Cleets side, he was a massive part in going 7s and obviously Zach and Tye have come in since but jackstand still stands by cleets side in anything he needs help for, he plays such a massive part in the channel, and I always love to see him involved

The 4440 is a quad range transmission. A-B-C-D are the ranges with four forward and two reverse gears in each range. Stop to change between ranges and use the clutch to shift between the 2-3 shift. The 1-2, 3-4 and r1-r2 shifts can be made without clutching. Also when it is hard to start you can turn the wheel back and forth while cranking and it will relieve hydraulic pressure in the pump and make it easier to start.

I appreciate that Cleetus invited Mike to hangout with them trying to start the tractor. He always makes sure to be respectful to his elders, include them in his projects, and listen to their wisdom. Unfortunately that is something that is not very common anymore. Keep it up Cleet!

9:00 tractor lives, cool af lil lizard casually crawls over fender, no one notices cuz its just normal there. Love it.
  • @Sy-Con
Love the 4440! If you need any dirt work done or runway expansions! We were the guys moving earth right next door for the new group of hangers next to Game comp during your visit! Hollar if you have any questions and we would be glad to help!💪😎
  • I am Commercial Multi Engine Instrument, Commercial Rotorcraft/Helicopter, Private Single Engine Seaplane Pilot from Oregon. Owned my house on a 2250' lighted grass strip which I shared with 23 other homeowners. Mowed the airstrip regularly with an old Massey Ferguson tractor. We had a steel roller, but nothing like your concrete roller. It does my heart good to see you out there loving the experience just as much as I did when I was younger. Im now 67 and not flying anymore but all my flying memories are the best memories! Keep it up!

you always find the old guys who want to hang out with you. You are cheering them up with the stuff you do and listening to their stories. Don't change Cleetus and cleetus crew.

The John Deere 4440 was apart of the Iron Horse series of tractors. 144 HP, it was extremely popular (and still is) as it is a beast of a unit! When people say "nothing runs like a deere" this is the tractor they are thinking of. It was made between 1978 and 1982. John Deere made two variants, one with a cab, and one without. The one with a cab is the most popular. The tag should be rivited somewhere on the back near the 3 point. The John Deere 4440 has a 16 speed semi-power shift transmission. 16 gears forward, and 6 gears in reverse. If properly maintained, that tractor will outlast your children. Take care of it, and it will continue to perform.
  • It's been 40 years since I did any farm work with tractors but if I remember right, the bushhog takes more maintenance than the tractors. We were using 1930s tricycle front end farm tractors and we were mowing brush on 2nd, 3rd and 4th year sprouts, though. The rough terrain and brush was hard on the brushhogs. Maybe that airport runway is a lot easier on everything including the tractor, the mower and the operator.

I am an Ag Leader installation tech, i autosteer all these tractors for a living, this tractor is super easy to setup and get autosteering so we can snap some perfect lines up and down the runway and make sure no spot gets missed
  • @pacman377
So youve got 4 ranges A,B,Cand D and then park. Then R1-R2, 1-2, N, 3-4. R1 and R2 can be shifted between without clutching. Just move the leaver left and right. 1 and 2 can be shifted between without clutching and 3 and 4 can be shifted between without clutching. We never shifted ranges on the move so pick the one you need and go with it. But once in a range you can clutch and shift from the 1-2 to the 3-4 while on the run. The yellow lever on the left of the steering wheel is your pto. I grew up driving a 4055, 4440, 4640, and a 4750 those are some awesome tractors.

Green & Yellow Tractors are the best! That bucket over the exhaust to keep the rain out is essential. We used to keep a coffee can in the toolbox on the old B Models and Super 60 we had... Whenever it was parked outside without us being there the coffee can was on...

Sod farmer here. Rolling grass is a very slow painstaking process. You want to go slow, really slow. The slower the better, but obviously if you went 2 mph you wouldnt get anything done. So 5 to 10 is the best but 10 mph is borderline too fast. Have fun! Wishing you a flat smooth grass runway!
  • @mrscoot1
JD 4440 is great tractor one of the best . Do not forget to clean all that grass off that mower and keep it clean and do not leave that grass piled on it, it will cause it to rust faster, and grease it before every use if fittings do not take grease clean unclog or replace . If you get all fittings working and give it a pump see it move everytime before starting you will not have to worry and bearings will work and last a long time! With them sitting awhile you would benifit from having them all serviced oil change , filters oil ,fuel and hydralics and checked out, then you will know they are ready to go and you can get them on maintance schedule. That will make them start and run better and last longer. Also blow out the air screen and filter after every use, change when needed. If you do not blow them out filters will not last long and will not run as good and could cause issues. If you do not have to do not use either, once addicted they will require it to start . So try not to use it, except when air gets in fueline, filter change or a leak! I know I made allot of suggestions you probablly already know but you would be surprized how many people do not do it! If you want them to last forever maintance schedule and other suggestions will be a must!
  • @danielh4995
I have a soft spot for old deere tractors. In case you hadnt figured it out already they 4440 takes 2 batteries. Put 2 new ones on it and it will fire right up. Those things are solid and that is a nice bush hog. I bet you could pick up a multi gang reel mower like golf courses use to cut the runway when needed and it would look spectacular.

To say is in so many times I see is greatness in the works. Untimely dedication to this. It's your being to always to go do something right? Well young man you are in the realm.
