Chaos: Making A New Science is the best-selling book by James Gleick that first introduced the principles and early development of chaos theory to the public.[1] It was a finalist for the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize in 1987, and was shortlisted for the Science Book Prize in 1989.
The first popular book about chaos theory, it describes the Mandelbrot set, Julia sets, and Lorenz attractors without resorting to complex mathematics. It portrays the efforts of dozens of scientists whose separate work contributed to the developing field. It remains in print and is used as an introduction to the topic for the mathematical layman.

  • 2:11:25 is the "ending" of universality chapter page 185 It then continues in the middle of a paragraph on page 250 of the dynamical system collective chapter until 2:11:55 in a way that seems EXTREMELY out of context. After that, it continues on page 252 (a 2-3 page skip isn't new. It did happen before) with a lot of jumps until 2:13:27 Then again, 2:13:35 was in the middle of the first paragraph of 262, with fewer jumps than before, it continued until page 265 at 2:20:52 The audio continues on the end of page 266 until the very beginning of 268. Then from 269 until the end of the paragraph (he then reads out things that were already written before all this) Then, starting from 2:25:30 the audio reads at the end of page 271 until the end of the chapter, then it continues on page 303 with the chaos and beyond chapter (without saying the title).. this would be 2:27:13 (I did not start following the audio from the beginning, but near the middle)

What a great voice. It takes a great, emotive presenter with excellent timing to keep me focused on audiobooks. I really lucked out with this one.

I read this book many times when it came out, but can't find an audio book copy. Thanks for the upload.

Thank you a lot! I've read in Italian but now i'm listening in English. Very useful.

This is a profound, red pill book. The way you view the world will change after reading it. Don't forget, there's no going back once you have. Enjoy :-) Thanks for the upload.

I just finished this book and like half of it made no sense to me and I don’t remember it but now the chaos of life makes so much more sense I’m amazed. Thanks Gleick 🔥🔥🔥

I think an index with timing would be helpful

CACO C-A-C-O light constant prefix. Cosmogonies the first principle of the universe to take form was cronos/kronos , or time, which came out of chaos, symbolising the infinite, and ether, symbolising the finite. Probably the most extraordinary coincidence discovered by science is the fact the basic formulae for three separate, and apparently, unrelated energy systems are almost identical. fundamentals.
