I’m having the issue right now. I brought it in yesterday. I have a 24 limited and the truck was in park and shaking. Eventually the check engine light came on. I found out my tundra was built in dec 23 in San Antonio according to the service manager. Even the mechanic said he hopes there no metal shavings in the engine. It only has 7,000 miles and got it in January

As a former Engineer that worked in the Automotive Industry for some time, you never buy a new design of any vehicle especially when a new powertrain is introduced! If you recall Honda introduced a new engine for its CR-V several years ago and as expected the new turbo had several issues with it. It took Honda some time to fix it but it’s primarily over with now, so the same with Toyota. I have no doubt that they’ll fix the problem and get it right. The sad part is that governments set unrealistic emissions targets for manufacturers and it’s forcing them to design smaller engines that are turbo charged. The new engines will work however they won’t last as long as the previous larger engines, but then the government doesn’t care about the consumer 😢

The only fix I want to see is bringing back a big V8! I miss that 5.7l.

My 24 had 10k service and so far is good. ( knock on wood)😊

I have a 23 Tundra Limited with 12k on the clock and has been Flawless so far.

Had a tundra 2014 had over 200,000 miles, brought a new 2024 Ridgeline, love it

When You See The Tacoma Prices, For The TRD Trims, Just Buy A Tundra. That’s What I Did!

The tundra is amazing transmission is smooth and frame, body is tough. The power is unreal and excellent for off-roading. Also the efficiency is excellent. They will fix the issue and I am not worried just like they did with the head gasket on previous model! A legend in the making! It will be the best turbo engine ever made watch and learn how the best handle these recalls! They stand up to the issue and never have let the customer eat the cost! No Toyota is not perfect but them owning the problem makes them the best out there!

I got a 2022 tundra with 28000 miles and the engine shut off while driving. After several attempts to start it up,it started knocking. Now it's in the shop for a week for new block.

Thanks for watching!!

Hi, can I take my 23 thunder to the dealer to fix on my engine because it has a loud noise from the engine and the light is on now too?
-
I have an early 23 non hybrid not included in recall
-
If they included the 2024s, they would have to fix everything on the lot before they sell them. That’s why they’re not included in this first recall. Mark my words, they will be also recalled. It’s a shame I wanted to buy a new Toyota tundra, but I’m not giving up my 2017 limited to have engine trouble. I’ll keep what I have.
-
Well, how did they do that?
-
I’m hearing that it may be a design flaw in the turbos… something about being placed in the lower back of the engine and the trucks coming in (24s) are trucks under heavy loads such as towing. I’m hoping this is not true. Hoping Toyota has figured it out and will release some updates soon. I have a 24 purchased in late 11/23 w/a build date of 9/23. I’m worried. 11,000 miles so far and not towing but want to a small 25 footer Airstream.

Thats Jim Norton Toyota!
-
Well, how did they do that? where the problem is if you buy one of these trucks, you gonna be taking a chance a big chance I’m not saying don’t buy. I’m saying you gotta be taking a big rest. You always be afraid. Something might go wrong. That’s a bad feeling and you just spent $80,000, or whatever it cost cause I wouldn’t pay that for for a truck you shouldn’t have to have any worries when you pay that much money for any name brand truck any truck if it’s new?

Toyota going down, Honda's stepping up.
-
They are selling because people know they'll be taken care of years down the road if the engine does have a problem.

Toyota's reliability speaks for itself, b/c Toyota always took care of the customer. Yet, some channels/ comments argue to never talk about any issues &/or potential issues. IMO, these two things can't simultaneously exist. We need to keep manufacturers honest.
