In this video, I'm truck camping and fly fishing for wild brown trout in the Wisconsin driftless region. I'll show you the patterns that I've had the most success with during the spring caddis season! I'll spend the week exploring a dozen or more of the areas famous spring creeks searching for some of the prettiest wild browns you've ever seen! This is part 2 of a 3 part series.

I can’t thank you enough for not putting a music soundtrack over your vids. All the sounds I want to hear while I fly fish are here. Carry on…

This is special; thank you... love the driftless area for the rails-to-trails bike trips. I grew up canoe/kayak fishing Musky & small mouth.
  • I think it’s cool that the fish you caught on the section of the streams where the bed was lighter the fish were a lighter silver but the fish where the river bed was darker the fish were more brown and colorful

Drew, in addition to stealth, small stream fishing requires creativity and adaptability. In this video, you certainly demonstrated all the tools required for success in our driftless area streams. It's nice to see you enjoying the driftless area of Wisconsin. It is truly a gem!
  • Thanks for the videos on the Wisconsin Driftless. I moved her a few years back and it is truly the Montana of the Midwest. Valuable tips to be had in these videos too.

So great to see my home waters on your channel Drew! Glad you got into the fish. The Caddis and Mayfly hatches have been sporadic here the last couple months due to unseasonable weather. But now we've gotten some rain and things seem to be back on track. Love your nymphing technique on that foamy recirculating pool. Full waders are really overkill for these small spring creeks. I use a inexpensive heavy duty pair of stocking foot hip waders. Not fashionable, but they do a good job of protecting my legs from thorn brush, nettles and barb wire fencing. I roll em down when it gets too warm, or during the walk back to the car. Great video. Thanks!

That last day on this segment looked perfect Drew! Way to end it with the sunset too. Heavenly!
  • Catching all those fish and having chicken for dinner? Head scratcher 🙂

Great vid Drew, heading up there in a couple weeks…keep em coming!

Been fly fishing for about 2 years now. I am from Texas and just now getting into Trout! It’s a whole new adventure!
  • Wow! Beautiful fish in a pretty little stream. Browns really are beautiful fish.

Great video! You have encouraged me to plan an excursion to the Driftless Region. Also thank you for showing that even LooknFishy gets hung up in the stream side veg - I thought all along it was just me and my poor technique! Well done. 👍🏻

My kind of micro water stream craft. Love it 🎣🎣👍🙏
  • That was a reaction at 4'40", Drew. I always use my #3 rod when fishing such tiny streams (sometimes even my#2 rod). Nice video. Again. Nice flies too. End of next week I go on my first 2023 flyfishing trip to Austria. Explore some new waters. A month later I go back again with my boys. Like you I used to go flyfishing on my own for many, many years now. But when my boys discovered the beaurty of this art I find it more difficult to go out on my own. You might understand this.
  • Wonderful! Fish after fish 😀 🐈‍⬛🐾🐈🐾👏👏👏
  • @MaHa-mr4rn
Very beautiful smal stream through a meadow 😂
  • Great video thanks.I see You were using an indicator setup. What makes you decide between a hopper dropper setup or an indicator setup...thanks
