Megaman X3 How to get the Z Saber

Between this and the gold armor, X3 has some of the most convoluted power-up acquisition requirements in the entire series.

The ultimate X3 loadout: full armor, gold chip, z saber.

i played this game 100 times and never got the chance to unlock this amazing power... my heart is broken

You don't need to drain all his life with the Ray splasher or the blades to kill him, just finish him off with em. You don't need all the upgrades either to get the sword.

Yes you can also use the Ray Splash move you learn from the tiger. It is actually easier too.

TIL you can switch to Zero in the pause menu. It's never mentioned in-game, nor is it mentioned in the legacy collection's "manual"

He'll also die if you beat him with ray splash.

A hint for Doppler labs 2, The red robots in the beginning have a small area where you can stand and you can't be hit cause you too close, but far enough to not be hurt by touching it. It is right on top their cannon when they fire.

Actually, you’ve shown a few unnecessary steps. All of the steps are: 1. Beat Crush Crawfish. 2. Find Vile in his hideout BEFORE the doppler stages are unlocked. 3. Make the final blow on Vile using the Spinning Blade (Crush Crawfish’s weapon) and he will officially die. 4. Go into Doppler Stage 2. Before the miniboss, switch to Zero and enter the door. Make sure not to let Zero die before as you won’t be able to use him after. 5. Kill the miniboss as Zero. Zero will unfortunately be unusable after doing this, but now it won’t matter as X can now use Zero’s best ability in X3- his saber

Damnit. I am on Doppler stage 1 with everything, except I killed Vile with the X Buster. No saber for me.

Also, don’t wait until you beat every maverick. Then you are unavailable to save Vile for last. I did that and I had to start all over just so I can get Z-Saber

Some of the things in this game are able to be found on their own, but there are just some that you need the walk through to help you in the right direction. Otherwise, they're a pain in the ass to find. Like I didn't know about the gold chip 'til I read a walkthrough.

For vile ride armor use ray splasher, for his second phase, use spinning blades

oh. well go to your start menu and then hit L1 and hit the start button or confirm button to switch characters. be careful tho, zero only has one life. =)

After 11 years, I'm about to blow your mind. You don't need to have any other upgrades to collect Zero's saber.
