Makati = financial District BGC = Residential/Lifestyle District

So far we have quite a number of train systems LRT line 1 and Line 2, MRT, MRT 7, PNR and we are at present building two subways and other plans like cargo trains, monorails etc.

Ayala is walkable from end to end ! You cross to the other side via underpasses. You walk the length of Ayala on street level or via elevated walkways. Malls in the commercial center are interconnected. There are parks and trees and greenery everywhere! Enjoy your stay.
-
You can walk all the way through the posh gated community of the Forbes Park Village of Makati to get to the BGC. Although there are BGC shuttle buses there to ride on.

Great video 📹 very honest and straightforward

Theres a museum in greenbelt attached to it and its the Ayala museum. It houses thousands of archeological gold artifacts of our ancestors. If Latin America has colombia with lots of gold artifacts South east Asia has the Philippines and we have the largest collection of it for the Philippines is known as the isles of gold during the precolonial eras.

I beg to disagree. Bangkok is way humid than Manila. Bangkok is 150 km from Gulf of Siam whilst Makati is 6-7 km away. There's so much breeze and coolness within Metro Manila because it is surrounded by Manila bay and Sierra Madre, a mountain chain that cools the capital. Manila does not have air issue or poor quality as evidence of blue skies 365 days a year. Unlike Bangkok and other capitals of SE where slash and burning is an issue during summer time. I been to Bangkok 18 times and all over SE and it is always the poor air quality of air that makes me wear those mask and avoid these cities at this time of the year. BTW, Makati a subway opening up soon. you should visit Ayala museum and see all those pre Hispanic gold of the Philippines dated in 9th CE. sadly the Tara gold is currently located in Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. Greetings from Seattle, USA

Interesting city
-
Makati was the first to develop in the 50s while the neighboring countries were still poor and full of slums. Makati was their benchmark in those days. Singapore was a big slum up until the early 70s. Bangkok Jakarta KL were all in their infancy. Glad you're enjoying Makati.

That portion of the Greenbelt mall that you first entered is the original mall Greenbelt 1 which opened in 1982. I remember going to that area as a little kid so I know the year. Greenbelt has expanded up to Greenbelt 5. Greenbelt 1 will be closed by the end of 2023 or early 2024 and will be redeveloped. For how long? I dont know.

I can only take the upscale areas abroad in small doses personally. But I guess many tourists and expats like upscale areas

I think Manila and Mexico City have some things in common. I definitely miss Mexico City. Probably because I've returned to Colombia twice, but have never returned to Mexico City. Manila is the Asia version

There are tons of malls in Manila and Bangkok coz it's the only way to escape the heat. 😅
