BLEACH Rebirth of Souls – Gameplay Overview Trailer

Me after Sparking Zero and Bleach Rebirth of Souls comes out: "I will never financially recover from this"

Im crying because me and my best friend friend wanted a BLEACH console game so bad for 10 years. He passed away, so ill have an extra controller for him when ill play this game. The name is poetic, 'Rebirth of Souls'

For everyone who is confused about the game mechanics, this is how I understand it: It looks like you get 9 health bars. They are calling it "Konpaku" and "Reishi" to theme it for the game. Konpaku is the full HP bar and Reishi is the HP in the current HP bar. Normal combos deplete HP bars like any other fighter but big attacks from specials that land will take out 1-3 depending on the move. This emphasizes building your special gauges and setting up for finishers. This in turn makes the action look more like the anime battles.

2:20 Ichigos VA actually does the little pause in BAN - KAI. This proves to me theres love in the making of this game. Sick!

This might be the first time a battle system purposefully simulates the pace of a shonen fight.

This does look more 2d and skill based than your average arena fighter, this was exactly what i wanted

An arena fighter with actual depth to its mechanics is certainly a welcome sight. Also added bonus of it being a Bleach game is the cherry on top.

Okay, think I understand this. Reishi is like the health bar. Once depleted it breaks the konpaku. You then can attack them and the strength of the attack depletes more points. Once an attack is delt, their reishi bar refills and you repeat the process until they don't have any points left. Its somewhat similar to Final Fantasy Dissidia where you would take out their brave points and add their attack to your own.

We've been waiting for a Bleach Game so many years, let's make it as big as it deserves

Please make this good even if we gotta wait a while longer to get it. Bleach deserves a great game!

This is so exciting! I recently got a friend started on Bleach and we're still in the Soul Society arc. I was telling them how the Bleach game on the DS was actually pretty good and what got me into fighting games. This is perfect timing, maybe we'll try this (although Bandai Namco has shaken my trust many times, we'll see).
