Xbox needed to go through a lull phase to get games done. Now we're going into a period where they'll have titles to release periodically one after another. Add the Day 1 release factor of Game Pass and for those who can't afford a high-end gaming PC the Series X/S consoles will become very attractive in the next 1-3 years. The fact that Microsoft has released more hardware options shows that they're preparing for this. 60%^ of past-gen console users have yet to jump to next-gen, a lot of it being because of rising costs of living but also because they haven't seen enough games from either console to warrant the price (with the PS5 being a PS4 upscale machine). Players will migrate to wherever the best value/abundance is. This gen (which has started off on a delay due to COVID) is far from over.
