"Is that a bird?" "Is that a plane?" "Naw, it's some guy in a pair of tights and a cape!"

One thing I noticed is that in a lot of these scenes, Superman does something grand or spectacular to demonstrate his powers. (Bend a steel car bumper,Catch a safe, catch a helicopter, catch a falling plane, walk through fire) but all Cavill!Superman has to do is snap off his handcuffs and everyone gets the hint and backs up. I also love that Lois is always the one to give him the name, Superman.

I forgot how good that Routh scene was (and how much homage it pays to Reeve's helicopter scene). Both are boss level entrances.

The scene in which Christopher Reeve's Clark Kent runs across the street, pulling his shirt open and exposing the "S" is so perfect. You know that he is going to do something fabulously heroic soon.

The way they animated Superman in the 1948 show was amazing for the time. I imagine the kids of that era must have been so impressed and excited.

Superman and Lois, and smallville are both great shows
  • @VBane
Shame that Routh's run was cut short, say what you will about the movie, he was a perfect successor to Reeves in my book.

""R.I.P Christopher Reeve the man who made us all believe that a man can fly ""! nobody else comes close so iconic that helicopter scene is that even today it still gives me goosebumps so sad that he passed ",great compilation blessed .

I grew up watching Dean Cain as Superman and loved it! My favorite Superman and Teri Hatcher was an awesome Lois Lane! I own all the DVD's.

Have to admit the best superman meets Lois has to be Chris and Margot. Easy miss I’ve got you. You’ve got me? Who’s got you?
  • @guypeate3628
5:40 "Well, I certainly hope this little incident hasn't put you of flying, miss. Statistically speaking, ofcourse, it's still the safest way to travel" In 2006 Brandon Routh: "I hope this little incident hasn't put you of flying. Statistically speaking, it is still the safest way to travel" I love that line, I get chills everytime I hear that
  • Fun Fact: Kirk Alyn and Noel Neill, the actors who played Superman and Lois Lane in Superman serial, did appear in cameo as Lois Lane's parents inside the train in an extended cut of Superman the Movie where a little Lois saw a teen Clark running faster than the train.

Superman- the movie 1978 was perfection. I can recall sitting in the theater through half the movie chomping at the bit to see him do his first amazing movie quality feat and the pay off wasn't disappointing. The whole theater cheered when he pulled open his shirt.
  • I always loved the scene when Superman (Dean Cain) flew Lois (Teri Hatcher) thru the window of the Daily Planet. Awsome.

Many of these actors showed up on the Arrowverse, sometimes as multiple characters. For example, Durance reprises her role as Lois in Crisis but also played Supergirl’s biological mom (and Clark’s aunt) in the same crossover. And Tom Welling is not just Clark on one of the Earths but also a certain immortal brother killer on Earth-666. And Routh reprises his role as Superman but also plays the Atom. Their meeting is interesting (Lex: “Congratulations, you look like a filthy Kryptonian.”). Meanwhile, Supergirl’s adopted parents are the movie Supergirl and the “Lois & Clark” Superman, while her boyfriend’s mom is the “Lois & Clark” Lois

I didn’t know that the scene where the girl said she likes Superman’s suit, and he says “Thanks, my mom made it.”, would get referenced and reused on Superman & Lois.
