Since the cloak drain is based on your speed, moving around crouched actually gives you more distance for less charge, with the tradeoff that you're slow of course, but that can be very useful when you only have a sliver of cloak left and need to get out of a sticky situation.

C&D is, unfortunately, a watch that's so much better at getting in the opponent's head and reminds you that spy is a support class. It helps make distractions and making the enemy paranoid on multiple threats even when you aren't necessarily one. Stuff like that helps the team but doesn't get noticed on the kill feed so often gets unnoticed.

The CaD is so perfect for being sneaky and messing with players it's unbelievable
  • One if the biggest beauties of the CnD is it lets you hide right where the enemy just spy checked. Seriously, if you see a rocket fly into a corner from a particularly pissed soldier GO THERE, he'll never find you unless his paranoia has shattered his brain so much that he double checks his work.
  • A friendly reminder that this 0:43 is only true up to normal walking speed. Once you’re going faster than normal, it stops draining faster. Cloaking immediately after a stab using the Big Earner results in a few moments of added distance for the amount of cloak you get, making it decent as a way to give the watch a bit more mobility.
  • I always loved the CaD, and never really understood the “stay still forever” part. Personally I used it to become the ‘Boogyman’ essentially. Sneaking into their back lines, popping out of cloak in a disguise, killing a player or sapping building before fading into the shadows only to reappear at random times to ensure they never catch their breath. The normal spy is the assassin, crippling the enemy with precise blows (Medics, Enginners). While I choose to instead increase the inherit spy fear to 1,000, killing randomly, at random times with no rhyme or reason. A medic watches me decloak thinking I’ll kill him, instead I kill his soldier and disappear. He watches me kill a engineer next, his paranoia increases and he loses focus until I kill him next. #GiveTF2PTSD
  • Just like a lot of people's spy psychology videos, my favorite thing to do as spy (that you can't really do as any other class) is to harass other players (specifically one or two, usually the best performing ones) so much that they become paranoid. Once paranoid, they begin to underperform. Spy is the only class that lets you effectively grant a debuff to one or more enemy players that lasts even for a few minutes if you switch classes.

I used to play comp long time ago and this thing was extremely useful on some maps, normally as a spy you would need to wait until push or distraction happens in a comp game because otherwise its a suicide to try and kill anyone, so you would wait somewhere near ammo/hp packs and on some maps they are far away from choke points, this is where cloak and dagger comes in, you can stay close to choke and react very quickly when push happens.
  • The Cloak and Dagger is good for messing around with the enemy team, making voice lines at them, while making them question where the voices are from.
  • Honestly a TF2 youtuber having their loadout rantsona actually lipsync to what they're saying is a really appreciated touch.

Im huge fan of ghost spy Being hidden alot of time, picking singular targets
  • i once used the C&D to spray a wall next to an engie nest, then watch him panic spycheck around him, finding nothing, relaxing, and then i just did it again and again.
  • From my point of view, the Cloak n Dagger is just usually better on defense, in particular when you are near the enemy's spawn. Because if the enemy team is struggling to get out, you kinda have to wait. But most of the time stock does the job just as well otherwise. And if you're on offense, you can usually just sit on an engie's dispenser to have a more predictable cloak n dagger. Most players don't really check there for some reason.

4:00 You should also be aware of what your team is doing, as you'll have a much easier time taking out players when they're busy focusing on them. Additionally, this'll help your team as well since you can take out vital targets such as Medics, Heavies or Demomen, getting rid of ubercharges, damage sponges and sticky traps.

amazing video and I love the pizza tower music that plays at 3:21

I have about 173 hours on tf2, and I'm VERY used to CaD. It just gives you infinite cloak, and i LOVE THAT.
  • @bombboy3427
4:45 this definitely has to be the CNDs biggest strength. The ability to just, not give into spy's most common routes and hot spots is great! But at that point you might as well use stock and the Le' Tranger...
  • @EDriGOdd
Most Spy players forget this watch exists (including me) and am glad more Youtubers are talking about it, like Soundsmith with his recent video Loved the bit at 4:34, reminded me of LazyPurple's hiftp demoman vid

As a cloak and dagger spy, I didn’t start out like the intro. I went “if I tap W, I can technically sneak into the base and get backstabs and have infinite cloak!” I still do that. Also, I use the l’étranger and YER to become the infiltrator
