  • Dang. When I thought Bocchi couldn’t get more relatable, it literally exposes me.
  • Bro I won't lie after I turned 18 years old, it felt/feels like time is moving 3 times speed. I won't lie Karakara became, one of those songs that I'll have along with me for life, now that I heard it, I love it. I really want to hear Ryo singing, so I hope when an album comes out we can get a song with her singing.
  • Now, I get why Kita was so worried she had to go through the lyrics over and over to lear it and she understands bocchi 's pain way more than any person and wants bocchi to rely on her
  • @TheEmolano
I just want to give Hitori a friendly hug so much, but I'm happy watching her break her shell from the safety of my reality
  • fun fact since you said that you don't play an instrument: Elixir is a very popular brand of guitar strings, so the idea of replacing them being "super novel at first, mundane after you know what's up" is on point

The lyrics in this song are just so poetic from a literal Japanese translation as well. My favourite lines are definitely "buchimakeyou ka, hoshi ni" Buchimakeru means to destroy yourself and crash and burn til you lose. Then "hoshi ni" meaning towards the stars reminds me of the phrase. Shoot for the moon, even if U miss U land in the stars. So together it's like she is destroying herself to intentionally miss and land in the stars. And the kiite, kikeyo "please listen, Listen!!" Is absolutely amazing. I'd translate it to "please listen... Hey! Listen!". I love the break in between the two words it's like bocchi has had enough and U can feel the anger behind kikeyo. No only that but the tone shift from crying during please listen to an angry Hey! Listen! Really sells the whole song.

You could have also added the literal parallels at the concert. Kita sings "It's not enough" while the audience looks as disinterested. "singing like the fool I am" while they are all off-rhythm. The music is so interesting in this show because it works on so many levels simultaneously.

I love that your analysis shows that Bocchi isn't just playing to get famous and escape "the cage" social anxiety traps her, instead she actually enjoys the music wholeheartedly and is running toward a dream/goal.

For those who really want to know, the 300mm radius body refers to her Gibson Les Paul's frets which have a 300mm radius fingerboard.

I've been struggling with depression for several years and damn this song hits hard. In the past I was much more comfortable expressing myself, I had ways to do so and actually took pride on being a somewhat creative person, but depression has been slowly eating all that away. Nowadays I mostly keep to myself much like Bocchi, even though I have this desperate need to get back to the surface and tell the world that I'm still here. Thanks for making such an extensive and deep take in these lyrics, the way you explained those kanji/meaning changes on the word 'listen' made me love this song and the way it's written even more!
  • @OlivesRCew1
8:09 i just googled it, the guitar she uses (gibson les paul standard) has a body radius of around 300 mm
  • @Otaku0129
I'm obsessed with this song rn also great job with the translation
  • @k0tori724
Glad I'm not the only one who's insane enough to analyse the song lyrics lmao. Love the interpretations on yours tho, you translated some of this yourself, AND LOOKED AT THE WHOLE 3 MIN SONG? Goated. The ideas about "breathing" and how that relates to her depressing closet and how she can only hear herself in the closet were some cracked details I completely missed. Keep at it!
  • @shawa666
"Technically, Kita Sings" Ryo: "would it be funny to have a normie sing lyrics like this?" The music for this show is so fucking amazing. It really feels like Bocchi writes the lyrics and Ryo writes the music, because it sounds like it's written by a music nerd. Which Ryo is.
  • just like "your lie in April" is what inspired me to play piano and violin bocchi the rock will inspire me to play guitar i'm sure of it
  • @Raphe9000
I really like the idea of the translation thing as a series, especially after dying over waiting for LycoReco things to be translated. S Tier idea IMO.
  • @nobeenery
this song was the first one i learned how to sing in the kessoku band album (second being if i was a constellation, gotta be on the bokita grind) and its probably my favourite song other than ano band, its so relatable
  • @BringerOfD
More so than hiding in her closet, you ever notice all the typical jokes about your heart beating so loudly other people can hear it? When you have social anxiety this isn't an exaggeration. You hear your own heart beat, your own breathing so loudly that you worry that other people can hear it. In more extreme situations it very literally drowns out everything else. You can't hear someone talking to you standing right in front of you.
  • @NonsenseNick
Even though you explained it with comedy, I still cried knowing the meaning of the lyrics. I can't listen to this song like before, now I cry when I listen to the song.
