I analyzed the past 15 years of Minecraft updates from 1.0 to 1.20. Do you guys agree with my rankings? Where would you put Tricky Trials on this tier list?

sprinting was way before 1.7, you used to have to double tap w to sprint instead of having its own button

Honestly, grading the versions on performance rather than actual content makes this tier list sort of invalid for me. I don‘t care if i have 1000 or 800 fps. If my eyes can‘t spot the difference, i won‘t complain. And no, you won‘t see a difference between 150 and 300 fps

The transition from "maybe 1.17 wasn't so bad after all, time made me appreciate it more" to "EVERY MODERN UPDATE SUCKS CAMEL BALLS" was really eye opening tbh

There is one thing that baffled me about this entire video, the focus on framerates and how it was enough to bump down updates multiple tiers when they were still above 60. 120 is more than enough fps to play the game and an update should not be thrown into the darkest pit of hades because it "Only runs at 120 fps". Doesn't help that the logic is applied at seemingly random too, since some updates have extremely low framerates and get placed high, yet other updates that were praised were tossed to the bottom for having the same low framerates. That is just mind boggling logic to me.

Only listened to your first 3 opinions, though hearing you care about the framerate and dissing 1.3 for the framerate cap boils my fucking blood, it's not that big of a deal man Edit: I did listen to the rest of le video after commenting, I still think framerate should not be a major factor

okay literally who hasn't spent like 10 minutes looking for the hidden treasure under desert wells

7:22 that's just straight up incorrect 😂 Sprinting was added all the way back in beta 1.8, before the 1.0 update. You just had to double tap W for it to activat
  • 1.14 changed the textures, 1.17 changed the ore textures, and technically the caves and cliffs update was split into four parts because of archeology I loved 1.19 because of how easy it was to find and raid an ancient city with just a pickaxe and shears, and if you find a mending diamond hoe and destroy all the shriekers the deep dark becomes free xp. Plus wardens are very fun to mess around with I personally enjoyed armor trims, it’s fun collecting them and showing them off to your friends

1.3 D tier because of 120 FPS??? Bruh, I used to play on 20 FPS all the time because I never touched the settings and I was FINE with it. Who do you think you are, fancy PC owner? You better look at us back in the day, Whimzee.

Blud is complaining for 105 fps while I’m sitting here averaging 27 fps💀

  • 1.13 would not be disappointing if we got it now. It’s not every update we get 5 new biomes, 8 new mobs, a new good weapon, new building blocks as goated as the ones added in 1.13, 2 new cool structures, a mechanic as useful as bubble columns, and overall such a drastic change to the overworld.
  • Why do you need more than 120 fps though? I can barely tell the difference between 60 and 120 anyway, much less 300.
