The archive songs are both a blessing and curse- it's incredible to get new songs but they sting like crazy... thanks for covering this one ❤

Chester was a once in a lifetime singer. There's just that sound that sits halfway between screaming and singing that he hits perfectly.

As a fan of Linkin Park, and of my adorable Chester. The first minute was enough for me to cry. Chester had an incredible voice. And I miss him a lot. This last song and especially the video is very impressive, since it is something new that we had not heard and it is with Chester's voice. It's incredible, amazing

Yes, Chester came to visit. HBD in heaven Chester. We love and miss you ❤

It's a just a coincidence it seems rest of the band is having a therapeutic listening session post Chester. Trac and vid was finished back in 2017, but then it didn't make the album selection anyway. Members also look considerably older today. And you see Chester coming in to join them in the vid.

I had the same facial espression during the video, plus some tears and horrible snot sounds. Gosh I miss his voice.

You got it Chris, exactly my feelings. Hopefully they still have a lot of"new" songs.

Thank you so much for waiting to listen/watch until you could share your reaction, that couldn't have been easy! Your expressions as you heard the various parts of the song matched mine when I first heard it, though I did start crying when they showed Chester's cheeky little smile while playing the acoustic guitar and right after sings "We hurt the ones we loved", it just hit me like a ton of bricks.

Every time I hear his voice in a "new" release, I go back to that July Summer and remember the news of his passing. The emotions I felt listening to their songs for the first time, understanding the pain they lived through, and the struggles they had to endure. Knowing this was almost on Last Light, makes the message of the song hit a little harder. I remember Chester saying that singing softer was harder on his voice than the screaming and going loud, so it's a different message for me hearing him sing softer in parts here.

Chester's voice might be my absolute favourite because it's the most relatable(not sure if that makes sense to others). His voice just resonates with me. Tnx for reacting to this.

Yeah, watching the video, it feels like he is right there 💔
  • @Noodlelino28
Ngl I got teary eyed listening to this one 💔

Your reaction seeing Chester again was most of us, I was just crying my eyes out. Thank you for covering such a hard video, it's amazing being able to understand LP on a different way, specially vocally, thank you for all the wisdom shared!

I miss him sooo bad! My heart just aches. Thank God for the archives. Thank God for the band to keep his talent being highlighted once again.
  • i have listened to this song a while ago and WHOW, but seeing this video and watching again like listening for the second time the song was like 5 times more emocional power, AMAZING
  • @Valentina-Tina
I love how you notice and explain to us the details of Chester's singing. I really wouldn't have noticed those particular details of the way of singing. Thank you!
  • @JustNick612
I commented a while back asking when you were going to do a reaction to this then kind of forgot. I don't know why Youtube decided to show me a week after you posted it, but I'm glad to see it. I thought about him on his birthday too, man... hard to believe it has been this long without him. I hope they continue to release stuff they have because as much as it hurts, its a good hurt.
  • fun fact: Friendly Fire was supposed to be included in OML Album almost 7 years ago but it was scrapped before May 19th was released. this song was too similar to Battle Symphony, Heavy, Halfway Right, and Good Goodbye so thats when this song was prior unreleased.
