As a Australian born Croat I am so happy for you and your wife Dusan. Croatia is lucky to have you both. I wish I did the same many years ago but I think it's too late for me now, Australia is not what it once was and so many people are looking at leaving Australia for a better quality life, it really is shit here

Anecdotal stories about how spouses meet are intriguing! I always wonder about that. My husband and my stories are brilliant, too. Especially our "why Croatia?" story. We were actually approached to appear on House Hunters International but the timing didn't work. Thank you for sharing glimpses into this facet of your lives!

there's an old tale, when God was creating the world he made America for the americans, Africa for the africans, asia for the asians, europe for the europeans and He thought all was good and time for a coffee on the Riva. But along came a bedraggled little fellow and tugged at his robes, ' hey Lord what about me, where can I live?' ' Who are you that I have overlooked, this is most odd?' This caught our Lord by surprise, but being the Lord he said to the little fellow, 'well I was saving this little patch of heaven for myself but I have the whole of heaven so you can have this little 'raj' .... and so we have what we have.

I wonder how open croatian girls are to date guys from other parts of europe since I'm going to visit as a single having a look around and might plan on buying a nice house. And also how easy is it to make friends in Croatia as well?
