The sheer incompetence amongst GP's and so called specialists regarding Hashimoto's / Hypothyroidism is truly staggering. So many people being kept sick and poor QOL ... and often leading to depression too. For many, Levothyroxine simple does NOT work .. leaving people in constant fatigue & illness.
  • So everything I've read, listened to, researched etc says to ADD iodine, but this seems to say to cancel it completely out or low iodine diet... this has all been so confusing and every dr I've seen says to just take the meds! I don't understand any thing anymore. So frustrating

This video has me more confused than when I started. I almost feel like they should have just talked amongst themselves and not posted it on Youtube. To take iodine, to not take iodine. The confusion continues.
  • This information is opposite what David Brownstein MD (near Detroit, MI, part of the goiter belt) talks about along with his research in Dr. Abraham's lab on 1,000 patients in California. They were using 24hr urine excretion but also measured bromine and fluorine toxicity that were displaced off of the receptors by the iodine. Dr Brownstein has seen almost 9,000 patients and stopped thyroid medication in 3/4th by using higher doses of iodine (12-25mg not mcg) He reduced thyroid medication in the final 1/4 from 2 grains to 0.5 grain on average. So what is a patient to do? 🙄 Dr. Childs would you interview him too and help us with this great discrepancy?

What is the amount of iodine in iodized salt and in seaweed snacks. I have no idea how these products might compare. I expect iodized salt is used in restaurant and processed food. Should someone with Hashimoto’s use sea salt or Himilaian salt?
  • @Abstract1984
So confusing, all doctors who promote both ranges of doses from restriction to high doses, have such convincing arguments.

If I had not followed my intuition, I wouldn’t have been diagnosed with Hasimotos. I was the one, after researching my symptoms, who asked the doctor to test my thyroid 🙂

So very informative. Grateful for such conscientious Docs, have found majority of medical professionals dishearteningly inept in their treatment of Chronic disease. 🙏💖

I had no thyroid problems at all. I became pregnant, 4 months in, I became very ill. Developed a lump on my neck. Went to my gynecologist same day lump showed up, heart rate was so rapid, I went from her office to hospital for 10 days. Dx with Graves. It was horrible with the pregnancy. The doctor had checked my t3, t4, tsh 2 months prior, and all were completely normal. The pregnancy started it. Now, I've heard a lot about post pregnancy thyroid problems, but getting Graves 4 month into a pregnancy? At the time, my endocrinologist said my case was very 'atypical.' I was his first patient he'd had or heard of, having it as bad as I did. He even wrote a published research paper on my case. Is this still considered not typical, or rare? I am very curious about this. BTW, I suffered greatly due to this during pregnancy, as I couldn't take much propylthouracyl (sp?) I had to stay hyper until after the birth of my son. My resting pulse before I got out of bed was 130. Nightmarish, I needed 4 doses of RAI after. That was a nightmare, too. Thank you for reading this. I'm glad I found this channel. ❤

Thank you gentlemen for sharing this ✌🏽💖🤟🏽✨️🧚‍♂️

Thank you both for sharing your wisdom. I am currently helping my dad of 88 years, wean off the levothyroxine he's been on for years. We started by cutting the pill in 1/2 for 1 week, then that same 1/2 pill skip every other day for 1 week, then same 1/2 a pill, skipping every 2 to 3 days for 1 week, now, cut pill in half again, skipping it every 2 to 3 days, for another 1 week, cut it in 1/2 again and so on up to 2 to three months, then stop. This was recommended by an older couple who was on thyroid meds. for 15 years. My dad is into his 2nd week of weaning. I am also helping him wean off of clonidine, 1 pill for 7 days then, 3/4th's for 3 days, then 1/2, 3 days, then 1/4 for 3 days, then an 1/8th for the last 3 days. If I'm doing any of this wrong, please let me know. 🙏 Thank you. He is supplementing with chelated multi minerals and an herbal supplement: Dan Shen Wan (a safe alternative for blood pressure). I will have him cut back on salt as well. Also, he is taking 2,500 mcg. of B-12, sublingual, just today, he increased to 2 tabs, he complained about about low energy.

33:20 A gmat teacher can't help running the math, and 20 grams times 1 percent times 12 percent times 4 percent is 960 micrograms, not 2300. & I'm not sure how other people do this, but my wife uses conditioner every day, and her practice is to apply it to the hair... Finally I want speakers and physicians to be asked about their funding sources, percent corporate, govt incentives, etc. NB. I'm listening to this a second time, and I'm still not finding the place where the toxic upper limit was established, or "who" established it. Please assist.
