Also remember how the catchy song was used to immediately distract the robots as if to signify that our complacency with hearing the same song over and over forever makes us "robots" as well. It also doubles as a statement on our music industry, and how every song being played on the radio is essentially the same song. It's repetitive, catchy, simplistic, and doesn't require any brain power whatsoever to decipher the lyrics. How ironic that it won them Best Original Song without even being nominated for Best Animated Feature. I'll never understand people who think of The Lego Movie is clichéd. People don't seem to realize that those very clichés are an intentional play on film clichés altogether. Great vid.

"Earth's greatest export...was hypocrisy." God, that is so true it hurts.

"Just like Christ, he steals Batman's girlfriend." That line alone is reason to subscribe.

And just like Christ, he ends up stealing Batman's girlfriend. That had me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. Well done.

I actually thought the movie was about finding a balance between the group and the individual. the master builder regularly dismissed or insulted Emmet for not being as "special" as they were, but they lacked any real ability to cooperate, resulting in a barely functional submarine. The fact that they even got into the tower was thanks to Emmet having them make something "normal".

I just noticed that Will Ferrell glues the "Where are my Pants?"-guy's pants on, mind blow!

  • I'm frustrated by the way you force me to realize how unintelligent I actually am. You make it clear that I am unable to find greater meaning and depth in anything, without having it explicitly laid out for me. I'm unable to avoid the reality of my own inadequacy, and my life has become fundamentally changed. I feel like my life has been a sham, and that I can no longer be certain of how I interpret anything in my life. I hope you can live with the fact, that you have undermined my entire understanding of who I am, and that I am now in a state of existential crisis.
