I travel to Melbourne, Australia in the state of Victoria to find out how Melbourne was voted one of the most livable cities in the world throughout the 2010s till present day. Melbourne is always in competition with Sydney as the best city in Australia. I explore the city by train and on foot to see all the sights and sounds of the city, as well as it's surrounding neighborhoods.

  • I spent a week in Melbourne during a longer trip to Australia and NZ and despite not liking big cities that much I completely fell in love with the place. Easy to navigate, everything is within walking distance (I don't think I used the inner city free tram once or public transport at all for that matter) clean, modern and great balance of cultural diversity. One of my favourite memories was visiting the botanical gardens and looking back at the skyline. Also st kilda beach is really cozy and clean. Will definitely visit again despite the 24 hour journey.

I lucky to have friends there which are more family to me than my own here in the UK. One day I'm going there ,seen Melbourne through them showing me on their phones and pics .certainly a place I would live if I could .
  • Have had several visits to Melbourne as my daughter Lucy moved there in 1989. To her credit, she has not affected an Oz accent, although my two Oz grandchildren, Jemima and Max are not strongly, accented , but definitely Australian.Sadly, as I am now 88, no further visits will be possible, but my wonderful memories will remain with me for as long as I survive. Delighted that Lucy is coming to England, May 29th, her mother;s birthday, so I can indulge her the way and loving and generous father should. March, 2024, England.

  • B4 movin to Australia, i never Know WHAT'S PTSD & TRAUMA feeels like........ til i came here!
  • I did my undergraduate studies there. The climate, flora, fauna is one thing, but it is the people that makes up a country. They proved to me why their ancestors were outcast from Britain. The British in those days were justified.

  • @maarte_kyel
thanks for uploading this beautiful and peaceful place
  • Melbourne was once very diverse, now it's China. I miss the old Melbourne from back in the days. Early 2000 till 2017 it was great. Now, all you see is the Chinese. Even shops like Myer are being taken over by the Chinese. Banks and shops are only hiring Chinese salespeople who can barely speak English. It's painful to deal with them when you walk into high-end shops like Myer. I don't understand why Chinese people being from a highly developed country like China is flooding this country. I understand why people from poor, underdeveloped countries move here, but not sure why people from developed nations move here. China is a well-developed, rich nation. Even the Indians left during the pandemic. Now it's mostly just the Chinese.
  • Oh, thank you, you show exactly my favourite place in my Melbourne .. even Bendigo ...my favourite church..ā¤
