I'm a mother of a daughter with almost the same diagnosed conditions. She will be 21 years old next month. I suspect her parents haven't helped her access all the community resources available. There are many programs that help with transportation, work programs, skill aides, social programs, and though she couldn't drive, she could probably operate an electronic scooter, or bike. It's difficult, and sometimes as parents we cannot continue to do certain things for them, but they struggle with a lot of executive dysfunction. So we make plans to solve the issue, and offer options to encourage independence safely, but things go wrong, and regardless of disability everyone needs extra help occasionally. There are also residential homes everywhere to help people with disabilities make the transition into adulthood safely, and with necessary accommodations.
  • People like to pretend those kinds of issues aren’t disabilities, so they don’t have to feel bad about crapping on their kids.

Girl, just run and gain your independence any way you can. It sucks feeling so helpless, but people with worse physical disabilities are able to live independently from family. It might mean having to live in a city and close to work with some sort of public assistance, but it's better than your own parents resenting you.

This is the risk you take when having a kid, if you can’t live with taking care of a disabled kid then DONT have kids because you simply never know.

This strongly feels like she's not telling the whole story. "Doctors not wanting to let her drive" and 'being medically ordered not to drive' are two completely different things. I was born with multiple Chronic Diseases, disorders, conditions & syndromes since birth - and I have never, EVER blamed my parents for my health. They did not choose or force my illnesses on me. This sounds more like a person using her health as an excuse to have things done for her. My friend was completely blind in his left eye from birth & was still able to go to driving school & learn how to safely drive.
  • Wtf my daughter who is autistic and has a speech delay started school today and needed to take the bus. I drove behind the bus she wasn’t even in the car why in case she needed emotional support. She didn’t and did great but I’m her parent we are everything to our kids we chose to have them why make them feel bad for something they can’t change

Do not have kids if you aren't prepared to take care of them for life.
  • @whendii13
That was stupid...i want to hear the whole story...why start such a story if it cant get finished on this platform ridiculous....that aside...people are so judgemental...all of you have been perfecf parents and have NEVER said anything wrong to your child before. Thats why all the kids running around today do not need therapy or anything like that!!! Those who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones!!!

Yes but they arent going to live forever
  • @dusklvr
She's doomed. I feel bad for her. Her parents are awful.

Yes OP, it isn't your fault. However, the world will not excuse your disabilities. I don't want to sound crass, but if your parents are complaining about having to help you, I think it's time to seek help elsewhere. You can talk with a social worker and doctor about resources to help you be better self-sufficient. I would hate for you to be under the thumb of people who resent you, and be vulnerable to them. 😢 I hope everything works out for you darling. ❤ ~ From a mom of AuDHD kiddos.
  • All she need to do is detox no sugar, bread just talk to a herbalist it will reverse her diagnosis
