Is Daisy really done being Nintendo's role model for the younger generation? Could she be the next Waluigi?

Daisy is the ultimate friggin princess!! I LOVE HER!! She’s got the most humanity of all the three that’s why people love her, she feels the most relatable. SHE’s the ANCHOR of the entire Mario franchise

I feel like at this point nintendo just adds the characters they like the most in each game, regardless of which characters all the fans want 😓🌼

I feel like the second Rosalina came on the scene and her popularity rose , Nintendo just threw Daisy into the shadows . I feel like they only add her in games to fill up the roster and because they know there’s Daisy fans out there that want their princess but it def feels like Nintendo doesn’t care about her . They literally made her a clone of Peach in smash bros . They need to put Daisy in a main storyline game . There’s no reason why she always has to be generalized as “ the energetic tomboy “ in everything 😂

Waluigi and now Daisy? Hmm… it almost seems like Nintendo hates the characters that have something to do with Luigi or are based off of Luigi.
  • I am really hoping that we do get to see Sarasaland in a main game again with Daisy. Nintendo seems to just create really awesome places that are interesting and try to make us forget about them. Also, is it me or did Sega gives Daisy more love then Nintendo? Like in the Mario and Sonic games some songs from her game were there and probably not Nintendo's idea.

It looks like Nintendo hates fan favorite characters
  • @JustJulyo
They don't hate Daisy, they just don't care for Nintendo fans

I love Daisy, she is my favorite mario character it's a shame how undermined she and waluigi are.
  • @TheScrimLord
It's hilarious how Nintendo is ignoring characters who one hit Bowser guess their to op
  • Also, they added Rosalina, who is basically Peach in a blue dress.

Fast forward to a year later and at long last, Nintendo decided to take its head out of its clouds to make her playable in Super Mario Bros. Wonder and (possibly) be a major character in new main Mario movie (likely in the early 2030s and whom do you think could voice her? My best guess is either Zendaya or... I dunno, Samantha Mathis, like in the 1993 Mario movie and other roles like Crysta in Ferngully, Amy March in Little Women 1994, American Psycho as Courtney Rawlinson, etc... or maybe even Hayden Panettiere)

"Hi ! im daisy" no, seriously, i hate when nintendo removes characters for no reason. i literally want to make a main game/franchise where you can literally choose between 20 different characters, including daisy, and waluigi. i want it to have at least 2 games on switch : a 2d game and a 3d game. we can play up to 8 players ! it can be just epic. also, you don't have to rescue peach (again), but a power star or something like that (like the Z star in the "super mario land 64" rom hack) also, i think it would be cool if you do a video about toadsworth (do you remember about him ? its the old toad)
  • i agree completely you've adressed all the points in the best way possible. especially the part of her not being a damsel in distress. and given a lot of the audiences were kids them making it always about needing someone to save girls and not defending themselves is a huge point. that toxic mindset can give girls low self esteem and feel like they always need to be dependent on someone. great points

I want so bad that the next 3d Mario game be a open-world remake of Super Mario Land and have Daisy as a playable characters alongside Mario.

(now watching this don't mind me) I feel like Daisy's case in the newest Mario Strikers game is a little tricky with trying to figure out why. Since it's plausible that besides covid fucking up the development of the game so plenty of shit could've happened to not help it, it's believable that Nintendo wants to imitate of how lively the popular Splatoon is doing (because mind you, it's THIRD game is coming out really soon). Splatoon's updates keeps the community on-going to keep playing. So it's possible that Nintendo thought by telling Next Level Games to cut out Daisy will feed into the mindset that people will keep playing until she's available again. Like I don't mind free updates but it's how you pace yourself with them in the game and since something like covid happened I am very forgiving (often in general) but some people aren't, let alone patient. Hell, some people are forgetting that some games were trying to be made and/or finished during the early part of the pandemic (and hey to those folks who think we're done, we're still in a bloody pandemic!). Also, with the Mario Strikers series on add more to Daisy's character, that credit goes to Next Level Games because at least according to ex-worker of the company in a fairly recent interview nearing the 3rd Striker's release, Nintendo for the first two games NEVER looked at the discs for what they contained, which is why we got the crotch chop in those two games but not the 3rd one. Plus, I'd argue it wasn't just Daisy that made Mario Strikers, it was Next Level Games giving EVERYONE much needed angst for football, a unique animation for the Home vs Away teams and in the sequel people got their own theme songs along with that too besides specials, showing a facet of each character with how different they are. Fucking hell Peach was a diva and while giving off bitchy vibes, I loved it, I loved for what they gave to everyone even if I grew up more with the 1st Strikers game and not the 2nd one. (Also I could mention the electric fence and certain item choices like the explosions but I feel like I made up enough of a case here.) I feel like what sucks is that, Mario, at least mainline wise, usually doesn't do story, it's platforming mainly. Now it ain't a bad thing but is when you bring potential character stuff to the table and doesn't really do anything with it, I feel like it's such a waste, it very well irritates me since I see the potential and want more out of it. Hell I think Bowser Jr is the only one they really have been consistently giving him depth and that's kinda sad imo considering the potential of everyone else in the cast. In the spinoff games we get more out of their personalities, especially for Jr and how yes he's a brat but he's a kid pressured to fill in his father's footsteps and hates it when his own people underestimate him. Plus in fairly recent development, Jr will do the right thing when it comes down to it, and will sooner ask Mario for help sooner than Bowser which is interest. 2nd I feel would go to Luigi at least spinoff wise, since Luigi I find is more of the realistic Mario Bro since you'll likely sooner shit your pants if you gotta go through the motherfuckin- KING OF GHOSTS just to save the day but yet, despite his screaming and running, Luigi does it. Luigi is a Cowardly Lion and I feel like with him (and Lucas for Mother 3 to use another example) it's okay to be scared, it's okay to cry, you cannot be courageous without fear. Luigi, will do the right thing when it counts. Also I'll give the next place shoutout to Rosalina's storybook since it helped us learn a bit more about the stoic Rosalina back in Galaxy 1 before she slowly hung out with her new friends and started to emote more often, to smile to get visibly pissed (Strikers Battle League). Not saying the Lumas she didn't emote with but, it's nice to see Rosie having fun outside of protective motherhood god like reasons, ya know? But going back to my earlier point... Hell, the M&L and Paper Mario series usually focus on characters and/or story (I'll argue this for the latter game's modern games but that's a can of worms for not here). And speaking of Jr, I feel like due to what's been said about him, he has more personality than Daisy on a level since we know a lot about the former but not the latter in terms of "What is her kingdom like? What does she rule?" stuff like that. Hell, how is her kingdom doing nowadays? Now I don't think Nintendo dislikes Daisy since iirc, Daisy's own Kingdom was originally in Mario Odyssey but didn't make the final cut. It's unknown why but we can hope they're saving it for a likely sequel or so, since Mario Sunshine was getting some love via Bowser's Fury AND much like Daisy's kingdom, Isle of Delfino was also found in the files I believe of Odyssey as well, so uh, clearly someone on the dev team remembers/cares but for whatever reason it didn't make the cut. As I said in a previous comment on Waluigi's video, I believe Super Mario Run is a mainline game (unless my memory with that is screwy) so she did appear and she actually has a bit of a voice in it which is interesting. And despite me defending Battle League here since NLG for the 2nd time got dealt with a shitty situation, I honestly agree Mario games needs to stop the vanilla Peach gets kidnapped bullshit or just it general. If they wanna keep it, please make it entertaining like how Paper Mario 64 did it or TTYD where interesting stuff can happen. And before someone says 3D Land, I'll give credit to Peach for trying to escape but still it's small and I wish she did way more than that, tell me she gave Bowser a hell of a time trying to drag her back. Double hell, GIVE THE IMPLICATION DAISY TOLD HER TO GIVE, HIM, HELL! Idk if I'd quite want Nintendo to use ALL of their characters in a game but at least start using them more. Give me more small but lovely details with them, man. I don't need a RPG story, I just want more out of this charming potential case you've given us, Nintendo. Pretty much, times like this, I do wonder what goes on in Nintendo's buildings about characters and such. I don't think everyone in there hates x or y without fair reason or so, so, I feel like the matter maybe complicated besides secretive.
  • Daisy is my favorite gaming character of all time I was even her for halloween this year, and it seems that they've been replacing her with Rosalina, who looks like Peach but with a different dress that's blue and a different haircut. Luckily her personality is cool. I just wish they stopped doing this, 3d world, Rabbids, and now Strikers?!
  • @Crazy4Daisy
IMO Nintendo is trying to slowly remove daisy because they want Rosa or Pauline to be the new "princess #2". I feel like this is because less character's means less development and in turn more money. If capitalism kills daisy im becoming communist.
  • I'm disappointed from Nintendo how can they just ignore the best princess is more like queen they made Mario games are more fun with her 💢
  • @Ken22475
Some people wished she was in Luigi’s mansion 3 or in the future Luigi’s mansion game but it’s sad how Nintendo cares little about her.
