Miss Asia USA visits Taiwan after winning title for Taiwan.Today, I have the wonderful opportunity to interview Tiffany, who is currently studying at Stanford University in the United States. She excels in her studies and I think I will never be able to get into Stanford : ) As a child, Tiffany endured unpleasant experiences due to her Asian heritage. However, these experiences led her to delve deeper into her Taiwanese culture and gain a profound understanding of it. Alongside her academic pursuits, Tiffany actively participates in beauty pageants. Through this platform, she aims to not only raise awareness about Taiwan but also to genuinely showcase Taiwan on the international stage.

Hi Jay, thanks for making this interview. Great to see a fellow ABT speak about her experience growing up in America, experiencing racism and micro-aggression from her classmates and overcoming these challenges later on. A lot of other ABTs aren't so lucky, and harbor self-internalized racism later on from their negative experiences being outed as the "Asian". Keep fighting against the Asian stereotype in America! Much love from Okinawa!😁

Usually in Taiwan people can tell I’m American because I’m fatter and have more muscle than the average Taiwanese girl hahaha Also the style of my clothing is different. Since I usually go back in the winter, they can also tell because I’m the only one wearing short sleeves or going without a jacket. I’m the same with my mandarin vs Taiwanese. Much better at Taiwanese! My parents used to take me to pro-Taiwanese protests/political rallies when I was a child. I will say unless you’re talking to someone Chinese who was born there and came to America, most other people have been very open and receptive when I talk about Taiwan as its own county. My Chinese friends who were born in America agree (but their parents may not!). Nice interview!

There’s a big Taiwanese population in Los Angeles. A lot of us second generation Taiwanese American speak better “Dai gi” than Mandarin.

Be proud of having Taiwanese identity👍👍👍 You can not imagine how the world is like if no Taiwan at the frontline defending the democracy against CCP. That I always tell my 15 year old kids.

    好希望台灣人可以從家庭重視自己的母語(客語、台語、原民語、各外籍,等等…),而不是俎國。 台灣加油
