First Tears of the Kingdom video! I wanted to make something that showcases some neat stuff that won't likely be patched out.
I'll get the attention of the Nintendo Ninjas later~

Whenever my watermark is blue, it indicates that the footage on screen was obtained using hacks.

Star Fragments are mid; they only have 80m despawn radius. Also other people were right, throwing on a bright bloom seed (big or small) is a solid alternative; when bloomed they give whatever it is attached to a despawn radius of around 610 m. Unbloomed, it's 160 m.

When you think about it, the object permanence for mirrors and dragon parts makes complete sense. Mirrors are used heavily in the Lightning Temple, so it would cause a lot of unnecessary frustration if they kept despawning while running around solving a puzzle. Meanwhile, dragon parts are expected to be flung very far away after detaching from the dragon, so those would need to stay loaded a very long distance to once again prevent frustration. Star fragments however, while similar, don't actually exist in the world until you get really close to their landing spot.

I honestly just love the concept of a video game main character (in this case, Link) giving a combat lesson to a bunch of soldiers... and just being like "so y'know how when you pull out your bow in midair, time slows down?" and everyone being like "what in the world is he talking about?".
  • Dragon Scales not despawning would be great for Korok torture builds when launching them into orbit, as the rocket will remain intact

you're the first person i've seen use piano tones for button presses for a demonstration and as a musician it really helps me to understand the timing of the button presses for tricks. that's a seriously clever way to demonstrate timing
  • So that’s why the giant boomerang doesn’t feel as cool as it used to, it’s not just the reduced damage, it’s the sound! But side note, sticking a Lizalfos tail on it and then throwing it makes it a million times more intimidating

i really appreciate playing musical notes when describing Button Timing...it lets my eyes focus on the Game Footage, to see the Visual Cues, while also giving me a 'better idea' of the timing itself...since im a musician by hobby, i can Hear the difference between a 'one-frame pause' and a 'one-second pause' a lot more clearly than i can See that same difference...also, because each button has its own note, its kinda like playing a game of Simon Says lol

Brightbloom seeds seem to have special despawn rules too. It seems like the game keeps them around permanently until you've planted more than ~256 of them, and then each new one despawns the oldest one. It's also possible to lose some if a little frox eats it, or if the thing it's attached to gets destroyed, or if you plant them too close together. And I'm not sure, but it also seems to increase the despawn radius for items they're attached to. I mostly use them attached to devices, or as markers to show where I've been or where I need to go.

The objects despawning when they get too far away isn't always a problem... but when it IS its really really frustrating. Like when you accidently electrocute yourself while attacking a bokoblin with lightning fruit in its backpack, causing you to drop your super-valuable hylian shield off the cliff forcing you to have to reload the save. ...or when you leave your ride for less than 5-minutes and it vanishes without a trace.
  • You can also fuse a wing to your shield and if you pull out your bow out the peak of a shieldsurf, you'll enter bullet time.
  • I just found your channel from this video, but I just want to say: the piano notes for the button combinations is brilliant. I don’t even play music and this single handedly changed how I learned from those overlays. Thanks dawg.

That crystal on the shield thing is really cool! I never knew it stays there for ever until the shield breaks
  • @jsj0520
I’ve been using the hover bike for the large majority of playtime, but that mop and fan design is so goofy yet practical lol
  • @theninjaguy2
The mirrors having a long draw distance makes sense to me, there's an overworld puzzle where you have to use mirrors to redirect light through a cave, which would have been impossible if the mirrors didn't stay loaded from a significant distance
  • @JasperPeters
This is absolutely game changing!!! I always knew you were a hero, but I never knew you were THIS MUCH of a hero!
  • @Bbeaucha88
Dude... The piano key notes for timing indicators is freaking genius...
  • @Harrery
If you fuse a glider to your shield, a shield surf gives you a slightly higher jump, therefore letting you enter slow mo from just a standing shield jump. I use quite a bit during Lynel fights
