The way Rogue spoke at the end was so heartbreaking

“How many times must the scoundrel prove himself the hero before he believes it?” Gambit just proved it.

it’s not just the greatest episode of the x-men animated series… it’s the greatest of the entire x-men franchise - the live action movies included! no x-men story did emotional damage like this episode, besides maybe Logan (2017). everything was perfect - the writing, the action, the animation. props to the 97 crew

This honestly might be the best piece of anything that the MCU has ever been involved in producing. It was like a combination of all the best parts of the love story of Wanda vision, the epic scale of infinity war, the multiversal connections of Loki, and the really genuinely incredibly character writing that X Men has always given us. I don’t remember the last time I watched something this good from Marvel. Amazing.
  • It’s been 24 hours and I’m STILL hurt. What a MASTERPIECE of television

In chess, a gambit is a sacrifice to gain an advantage usually to protect and advance the queen. In this case Gambit made the ultimate sacrifice. A very poetic symbolism. A bittersweet moment. That is why this episode for me cuts deep and now you know why he is my favorite X-Men and even my favorite Marvel character of all time.

‘’The name’s Gambit mon ami, remember it’’ 😢 ‘’Sugar, I can’t feel you’’ 😭😢
  • Gambit is my favorite x men characters since childhood seeing him die felt like losing an old friend 😭💔 RIP.

    Storm “I can’t feel the wind”, Rogue “I can’t feel you…”, Me, I can’t feel anything anymore 😭

Lenore Zann really deserves an award for this episode. The delivery in that last line absolutely broke me.

Gambit was always the coolest mutant. What a badass.

Final 10 min is the greatest adaptation of anything superhero related. Ever. Period.

Remy: "The name's Gambit, Mon Ami... Remember It" Rouge: "I can't feel you.... " 😥

They better get a nomination for this episode. The shock from everything that happened on this episode reminded me of the Red Wedding from game of thrones

The posing for Rogue holding Gambit is straight from The Death of Superman
