Men in Black: International (2019) - Alien Shootout Scene (3/10) | Movieclips

The reason why men in black was such a success was due to its incredible writing, comedic timing and actual character development that built with each movie, raising the stakes and adding so much more emotion/connectivity between the characters aswell as the MIB universe. MiB international has none of these things, it's like the makers never understood what made it successful, it certainly wasnt the guns, explosions are cars. There is no soul to this movie.

This looks more like Thor and Valkyrie on vacation.

If I could direct you to this eye examiner, I'll tell you all you need to know. Flash After MIB 3, the studio locked away the franchise after seeing lower than expected sales, and decided to preserve the brand and just make smaller short term sales in favor of long running sales for years to come on the existing movies. The studio decided to never cheapen the franchise by making a wannabe avengers film meets doctor who with an MIB logo. You understand? It never happened, you're experiencing the Mandela effect, it never happened.

If Tommy Lee Jones, and Will Smith come back for a fourth film then people would have cared more, and the film would have made more money.

The girl at 02:30 is walking like she wants to ask the guy in the car for directions, not like there's a shootout going on.

Bad writing or not, you gotta admit that hidden weapons inside of standard, ordinary vehicles that’s accessible to MIB Agents is awesome!

This film relied entirely on the chemistry of Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, which was already seen in 'Thor: Ragnarok'. Not to mention, these two were playing template, single-dimensional characters. Unlike Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, who are great contrasts to one another. It's the Texan no-nonsense Sam Gerard opposite the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Worse. This film has neither the quirks or flair of Barry Sonnenfeld or Taika Waititi.

I feel that this movie could have been entirely fine if it wasn't named Men in Black; but the fact that the creators obviously had no clue what made Men in Black good and still decided to call it that absolutely killed it.
